Spring 2009 Classes

Published

Maybe it's a bit early, but I am curious as to what classes everyone is planning on taking next semester.

For me:

Anatomy and Physiology II

Microbiology :)

Specializes in Med-Surg.

already been on a couple wait lists so i'm getting my bsn requirements out of the way.

Organic Chem

Statistics

Philosophy

Spanish

Then all i have to do from there is nursing courses. Finally no more general ed requirements.

I will be taking A&P 3, psych (growth and developement), Biomedical ethics(philosophy), and nutrition.

Specializes in Surgical/Trauma ICU.

I just e-mailed the head of the anatomy department. Aparently there will not be any "shadow anatomy" class next semester. Which means if I do not get a spot in the class, I will not be able to get in once the semester starts like I planned on. Oh noooo. I'm so anxious for registration. I hope I get in. Usually all the classes fill up the first day of priority registration and I have third day priority. Maybe spring is less competetive than fall? Ohh man, if I don't get in this class it will set me back at least one semester, maybe a year. Good thing I'm young...

Anyone got any advice on how to get into this class if it fills up before my registration slot?

hahahaha,

i emailed the head of the anatomy department again (she's also the teacher of the anatomy class i want to take), to see if it would be possible to add the class once the semester has started if i don't get a spot during registration.

this was her response:

"yes, almost always folks do not show up who got in and some folks actually listen to me on day one and when they realize they are not really ready for this course they go away."

i thought that was funny.. "they go away"

A&P I and microbiology

Im just taking A&P I in the spring. After that, I will only have A&P II left.

Well Im taking PNU 190 and AP I

Well, since i found out that I need 12 classes before I enter the BSN program instead of just 4.... I have NO clue what I am taking. Probably just one class in the spring, and 3-4 classes in the following three semesters.

Anatomy and Physiology II

Literature and Composition II

Investigations into Health Careers---to finish my Health Career Pathways Certificate

I am taking APHY 102, ENGL 111, and a managing personal finances class- required elective to apply to the program.

I literally have the rest of my college career mapped out!

Anatomy 1 - 5 units

English 5 (second semester english + CT) - 3

Sociology 1 - 3

This is 11 units + yoga = 12 = full time = scholarship

Plus I'm taking a CNA class at the red cross during the evening (4-8, M-F) and that will go for five weeks into spring semester and then will be over.

If I don't make it into anatomy (everyone wants it, its a hard spot to get even though i have priority the 3rd day):

English 5 - 3

Sociology 1 - 3

Statistics - 4

Spanish 1 - 4

I hope i get into anatomy though. I think if i don't get a spot in the class during registration I'll just go sit in the lecture until they finally decide to add me. ;)

Haha!

After our first semester we are able to register for classes online. I promise you, I was up at midnight ready to click that class to register for it!! I needed an evening class with lab/lecture on the same day so I wasn't wasting any time!

lol, yeah i have priority registration, but it is not until the third day from 3-5pm, and everyone wants anatomy so it fills up fast.

i emailed the head of the bio dept the other day (she's also the teacher of the anat class i want) to ask if there was still a possibility to get in her class if it was full and this was her response, i thought it was funny, "they go away":

"yes, almost always folks do not show up who got in and some folks actually listen to me on day one and when they realize they are not really ready for this course they go away."
