I know this is pretty early but i just finished my pre reqs for nursing and im on the border but I seriously CAN NOT wait to apply in march! Ill be finishing my AA if i dont get in.. so i will apply again if that happens but fingers crossed it wont! 3.766 gpa for application.. are you all excited?! Congrats to who got in last semester by the way! What how do you all feel at this point in time? Im feeling a huge accomplishment coming! --:nailbiting::nurse::nailbiting:

That actually looks pretty good. I have looked at the crates and my biggest concern is that we are upstairs, and the crates would be a pain, but this you could carry upstairs....

I haven't decided yet, but was thinking about getting something like this

So it looks like I really will be switching to night classes this semester! :) I just got a phone call & email saying a night seat has become available. Northside nights. Unfortunately the professor is kerns w/ the bad ratings on rate my professor, but regardless I am accepting the seat. I am super determined to do well no matter what, really gonna take advantage of the resources at HEC, tutoring, workshops, etc.

Update: it's official, they had just changed my schedule on myspc

Mhoffman:I agree with you there.. lol i have handles on mine but it will have to be lifted 2 handed lol

Yeah I was wondering what to use considering we have to go upstairs! I saw the cart at Office Depot but it just seems like it would be kind of a pain to use and drag up the stairs lol

Is there an elevator? If not im going to treat it like a work out! Go go go!!

This is the case everyone has:

Amazon.com: ECR4Kids MemoryStor Universal Rolling Cart and Organizer Bag Set, Black: Industrial & Scientific

I wouldn't recommend a rolling backpack or anything other than this. There is an elevator. My only regret in all of nursing school is not having bought this in Level 1. Also, these:

Amazon.com: pharm phlash cards: Books

You do not need to buy the optional books. I bought every one, and didnt crack them once.

Thank you!! So does everyone just use the elevator? Lol

For school shoes - (I'm pretty sure I asked this but I'm a dork) - has anyone bought Dansko's?

I'm still undecided on what shoes to buy that will not kill my feet yet will be allowed in our clinical settings.....

Thanks for that insight!

Strange question - do we need to bring ALL the books in the packages with us to class each day or is it just going to be one or two of them per day?

The package you get in level 1 covers all 4 levels. There are a few extra books you'll be buying for each level, but you are mostly set. In Level 1, you will be using the Fundamentals book for the most part, and a couple of others. I would leave my skills kit in the trunk bc you never know when you will need it. It also isn't a bad idea to leave your level 1 books in that rolling case, in your trunk. The case is big enough to fit everything you will need, without breaking your back. The instructors will let you know which books you need for which day, but you will be sticking to maybe 3-4 books for level 1.

I paif $120ish for my Danskos and ditched them after level 1 because they are extremely painful. I bought all black sneakers from Payless for $20 and they are perfect. Don't go crazy on shoes while you are a poor student.
