SPC Spring 2018

Published

Hello everyone,

I haven't seen a Spring 2018 thread started for SPC nursing hopefuls so I decided to start one. I am very eager and anxious and I know a lot of you are too. So who else is applying for the Nursing program at St. Pete College for the spring?

A little bit about me. I have a BS in Psych and returning for nursing. I have all my prereqs completed and have a 3.66 GPA.. I have A's in all my sciences except Mirco Lab I have a B. I am super nervous about my GPA knowing that many others have better GPAs. I am holding out hope that other people will apply to other programs. Also historically the Spring is less competitive. I am hoping to get in for the night classes. The application opens on July 1st so we can apply in 3 days!!! Then wait for what will feel like forever. The suspense is already killing me.

Where are the rest of the SPC Nursing hopefuls? Sound off... 3..2..1.. GO!

No! I haven't seen anything yet either!!! Ugh lmk if you see anything! Can you see anything in mycourse yet?

FINALLY. Looks like we're NOW registered. Good luck with all the prep, everyone.

What is the scheduling like during the first semester, in terms of days and times? Also, do you spend the first 8 weeks at the HEC before the hospital?

If i remember correctly, I believe they said it was 7 weeks before we leave campus.

Okay, then 7 weeks. What are the times and days of being at HEC?

Specializes in MICU.

Did anyone get their schedule and their clinical site is not listed? Did anyone get a shift they didn't want? Does anyone know if you have the option to switch either now if after the first semester? I was given days and really wanted nights :(

I think based off the the sites you chose for clinical is how they determined if you are days or nights. I got my second pick which was evenings and I noticed my classes are also evenings. I'm thinking that may be good because I'm not sure if I would be on time for am classes

I got my first pick of clinical sites! Now I just need my books & scrubs and I'll be ready to start!

I am on the commons page but where do I find out if I am day or night and where my clinical site location is?

It's in my SPC where you pay your classes
