I haven't seen a Spring 2018 thread started for SPC nursing hopefuls so I decided to start one. I am very eager and anxious and I know a lot of you are too. So who else is applying for the Nursing program at St. Pete College for the spring?
A little bit about me. I have a BS in Psych and returning for nursing. I have all my prereqs completed and have a 3.66 GPA.. I have A's in all my sciences except Mirco Lab I have a B. I am super nervous about my GPA knowing that many others have better GPAs. I am holding out hope that other people will apply to other programs. Also historically the Spring is less competitive. I am hoping to get in for the night classes. The application opens on July 1st so we can apply in 3 days!!! Then wait for what will feel like forever. The suspense is already killing me.
Where are the rest of the SPC Nursing hopefuls? Sound off... 3..2..1.. GO!
Everyone, Hi, I'm Maria. I was told to get scrubs now. They will have to have an SPC logo. Navy with Logo all black or white or blue shoes. I will be doing days hopefully, I live in St. Pete. Wondering how the VA is? Which will be my first choice (I think). ANyone else going days. Does anyone know the day instructors? I have all friends in SPC right now at night classes. They are doing BonSecour.
1. You must be CPR/BLS certified through the American heart association. They'll require that you upload a copy of your card to castlebranch. So definitely get that out of the way asap.
2. I think you can wait. I waited until about a week before; i wear xsmall though, so I didn't have a problem lol.
3. I got my second choice. Like I mentioned, I was accepted as an alternate though.
4. I don't think they need to be non porous or non slip. I come from the restaurant industry though, so I went ahead and spent a pretty penny and got a pair of danskos... I know the value of well made, non slip, easy to clean shoes. I've seen other people with porous type material and want to vomit thinking about the amount of bacteria that's been tracked in to their cars and home. I've wiped mine down with bleach several times. But at the end of the day, this is 100% your choice.
Get nonporous ones. You're going to need to be able to clean them. It's not part of the dress code, though. It's part of the dress code to wear socks that match the color of your shoes, but it's not enforced. Also, I don't believe you can wear blue shoes. It's either black or white. And for god's sake don't bring your shoes into your house. Hospitals are nasty places.

Hi, has anyone else got an acceptance letter. I did. I am in. Wondering who else has gotten in. They said November 1st but mine came Saturday.
