SPC Nursing Fall 2018

U.S.A. Florida

Hey Everyone!

Thought I would be the first person to start a SPC Nursing Fall 2018 thread. Even though we still have one semester left before applying, I thought I would start a thread to get the ball rolling and to see where everyone stands. If are applying for the program in Fall of 2018, please let us know the amount of credits you will have at the time of applying and what your cumulative and program GPA's are. As for me, I will have 30 of 30 credits completed and a cumulative GPA of 3.9, with a program GPA of 4.0.

I went to financial aid on July 19th to ask them to extend my book line of credit so I could purchase the books. She said it would take 1-2 days but a week later it still hadn't been extended. I then went to see another financial aid person at the health campus to ask again and he also said it would take 1-2 days. I had to go a third time and got the email of the person who actually does it and spoke with her and it still hasn't been done. They know I'm going into the nursing program and school is starting soon. I'm really hoping it will have been extended by next week or I won't have any books when school starts.

Wow, that's unacceptable!

That is ridiculous. I hope it all works out for you. (Worst case scenario) Do you have a credit card you could put them on until you get financial aid? That is what I am doing because I am waiting on my book stipend from the GI bill and they pay a month behind, unfortunately.

No credit card. Hoping this week it will finally get done.

The email sent out is in Mycourses email. They sent us a list of chapters and pages to read to help get a head start on the first week. They also said in the email the class should open up in Mycourses on Friday.

Are you in Marguerite Pels class too? She seems to be the instructor sending out the emails. I have not received anything from my instructor.

For anyone going to the critical thinking classes tomorrow, are we supposed to wear our scrub uniforms? Or just regular clothing?

No, I went today and its casual.

It says on Myspc that my clinical instructor is Diane Sue Miller, and that my on campus instructor is Anna Neuzil, however she is the academic chair of nursing one and I have a feeling it is Miller that is going to be for both. Not sure though. The email was signed

" Your Level I faculty look forward to seeing you soon!

Mrs. Lutocka, Dr. Offutt, Mrs. Stein, Mrs. Miller"

Hope that helps ! I had to go under Mycourses and click on the little mail button and then click the word email.

What shoes did you all buy? It's hard to find an all white leather shoe of athletic brand (I already have one cloth material pair of all black Reebok's) . I don't want to buy clogs or bulky shoes.

I got my flu shot today from CVS if anyone is interested. They are the only place I have heard of offering the new ones.

I went to TJ Max and I found Reebok memory tech shoes that are all white and not cloth. They were only $30.

Oh, they have the flu shot for the new season already?
