SPC Nursing Fall 2018

Published

Hey Everyone!

Thought I would be the first person to start a SPC Nursing Fall 2018 thread. Even though we still have one semester left before applying, I thought I would start a thread to get the ball rolling and to see where everyone stands. If are applying for the program in Fall of 2018, please let us know the amount of credits you will have at the time of applying and what your cumulative and program GPA's are. As for me, I will have 30 of 30 credits completed and a cumulative GPA of 3.9, with a program GPA of 4.0.

Just curious, but I am assuming everyone has completed and passed the background check, fingerprinting, and drug test that has already been enrolled into their selected clinical sites. Otherwise, I am not sure why they would already enroll people into classes and clinical sites unless this has already been done and the person has passed. Has anyone had their status change in Castle Branch in regards to the fingerprinting? It says the school administrator is supposed to do it, however I am not sure when they actually do it. Anyone know?

Mine still says incomplete on the last requirement of the fingerprint scan but at the bottom of the page under the other requirement section where you upload the drug test and background check documents it says approved!

Northside was going to be my first choice but as soon as I saw the ratings of the professor I changed to Morton plant. It's about 45 mins away from me but worth it for a good professor

I got my first choice of the night program and clinical at Northside!! Super happy about that but I did read the rate my professor and the instructor I have assigned to me did not have the greatest rating..... I know to take those things with a grain of salt buttttttt hahaha any thoughts??

Who is all in the night program?? I cant wait to meet you guys and make a killer study group!

My fingerprint thing says the same thing. It might be a while before they input it I guess.

Ah okay, cool!

Yeah, I guess the school administrator has to approve it and I am not sure when that will happen. Hopefully soon because I like to see all my stuff show COMPLETED. ha ha!

I am in the night program, but at Palms. I am not sure how it will go with the night students. Are we all in the same classroom? I know my instructor for lab/theory is Felicia Pryby, but for the actual clinical site, it's Anna Neuzil. I am not sure how this all works because some instructors show that they are the instructor for a few clinical sites and at the same times. Just wondering how they will be at all those places at once? Hopefully they will clear this up at orientation.

I just got notified as an alternate that I was accepted! I'm so happy I can't stop crying lol. I will be taking all of your advice on the process from here out. I'm so excited!

Hooray! Congrats!

I have completed the fingerprint screening and submitted my background check but I haven't had time to do the drug screening yet. Going to do that tomorrow morning. My fingerprints still say incomplete for the last one, but that VECHS waiver they sent in the email that is to be turned it at orientation is what allows them to send the prints to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement for review, so maybe they have to wait for all that to approve them. Has anyone reviewed their background check results? Mine says no records found for Patriot act, criminal record, and healthcare fraud, but it also says for "residency history" and "social security alert" that "the only names and birth dates located are different than those belonging to the person submitted in this request". It's making it sound like I don't have a SS number or don't live in Pinellas county, but I have never had trouble with my SS and have lived in Pinellas my whole life LOL.

It only tells me one instructor on my list. Where are you seeing this? I might be looking at my schedule in a different format.

Update-- Mine only has the same person for my lecture, lab and clinical. Sound weird but I will ask them about it when I go in to get some stuff signed next week. It also is showing that there are 12 seats in my sections so I don't understand how we will all be in the "night" program but have different teachers but have the same time stamp on everything regarding clinical, class and lab times?? Hopefully this will get cleared up at orientation!
