SPC Nursing Fall 2018

Published

Hey Everyone!

Thought I would be the first person to start a SPC Nursing Fall 2018 thread. Even though we still have one semester left before applying, I thought I would start a thread to get the ball rolling and to see where everyone stands. If are applying for the program in Fall of 2018, please let us know the amount of credits you will have at the time of applying and what your cumulative and program GPA's are. As for me, I will have 30 of 30 credits completed and a cumulative GPA of 3.9, with a program GPA of 4.0.

Does anyone else's MLP in MySPC still not have the selection of "plan by requirements" as suggested in the admission email?

Mine does. Then again, I already completed the MLP back when I first started school.

Are you in the "my planner" tab? It shows on mine, it's next to the button that says "browse course catalog" and under the "view pathway" button. If you're not seeing it I think you best bet is to meet with an adviser because they will help you with that. I had an adviser help me with my original pre-req MLP.

Thank you, and yes in " my planner" tab it does not show "plan by requirements" so I went ahead and did it by browsing the course catalog so that it is done, and will have to plan on a walk-in with an advisor. It's odd because myspc says nursing-AS but this tab has info from 2012-2013. I also have been placed in classes based on myspc at Morton Plant, for days. :)

Awesome! They placed me at Northside Hospital for days. Which is awesome because that was my first choice haha!

Hooray!! Mine shows Palms of Pasadena, which was my first choice!!

I got my first choice too! Morton Plant for nights :D

I'm glad we all seem to be getting our first choices!

I'm getting excited to see everyone at orientation next week! Our lives are about to get crazy!

Me too!! I can't wait to see who will be in my squad. haha!

I got my first choice of the night program and clinical at Northside!! Super happy about that but I did read the rate my professor and the instructor I have assigned to me did not have the greatest rating..... I know to take those things with a grain of salt buttttttt hahaha any thoughts??

Just curious, but I am assuming everyone has completed and passed the background check, fingerprinting, and drug test that has already been enrolled into their selected clinical sites. Otherwise, I am not sure why they would already enroll people into classes and clinical sites unless this has already been done and the person has passed. Has anyone had their status change in Castle Branch in regards to the fingerprinting? It says the school administrator is supposed to do it, however I am not sure when they actually do it. Anyone know?

Hooray!! I wouldn't take those reviews too seriously. You never know what was going on with the person that wrote them. I have heard that the instructor for that site is a great instructor that cares about her students.
