SPC Nursing Fall 2018

Published

Hey Everyone!

Thought I would be the first person to start a SPC Nursing Fall 2018 thread. Even though we still have one semester left before applying, I thought I would start a thread to get the ball rolling and to see where everyone stands. If are applying for the program in Fall of 2018, please let us know the amount of credits you will have at the time of applying and what your cumulative and program GPA's are. As for me, I will have 30 of 30 credits completed and a cumulative GPA of 3.9, with a program GPA of 4.0.

Has anyone attempted to schedule their appointment for the fingerprint screening? I submitted my payment through CastleBranch and I thought the fingerprints were included in that price but when I went on Daon's website it wants me to pay an additional $50. I'm thinking I'll have to schedule an appointment with an adviser for an answer lol.

I thought so too but I think it is additional.

It is included. They have instructions on castle branch

Yeah, I was looking at the instructions from castle branch and followed it and it still wanted to charge me. I was going to ask an advisor about it too.

In the packet they had me download it says you make an appointment and then immediately following it, it says the next page should be a confirmation page but there is actually a payment page first, and then confirmation. Which has me further confused haha. And all adviser appointment spots are filled up this week so it looks like I'll be getting there early on Tuesday and waiting.

Yeah, I thought that was odd too.

I believe that once you register with Daon you have log out and then log back in through the CastleBranch link. I think it said if you continue with the initial registration it'll prompt you to pay which I don't think it should.

From the instructions: "After saving this information, your account setup is complete and you need to logout. YOU MUST logout and follow the steps below that will take you to the CastleBranch specific Daon link to setup your appointment. This will ensure that you are not asked for payment."

I don't know if that helps clarify anything I'm sorry if it doesn't!

I hear ya! I looked at the registration page to find out which instructor is attached to which site. Then I looked on ratemyprofessor.

Yes I am also stressing lol. I've stalked some old Allnurses forums and have heard some things about different clinical sites so I'm trying to pick the best one that isn't too far away. I read that someone went to the HEC and asked an adviser which instructor was attached to what clinical site so they could do some research. I think I'll have to talk to an adviser anyway so I may do this sometime this week. I'm planning on doing days but I'll take anything at this point lol!

I did exactly that and it still prompted me to pay.

I clicked on the link it told me to click specifically. It's weird. I'll try again though.

Okay, so I tried to set up an appointment for the fingerprints and this time it didn't ask me for payment. I did the exact same thing I did yesterday, however, I obviously I did something wrong the first time. :banghead:

It also let me do it the second time without payment. All's well that ends well.

I chose Morton Plant as my first choice as well. I had my baby there and I feel some type of attachment and loved it while i was a patient there!
