Hey Everyone!
Thought I would be the first person to start a SPC Nursing Fall 2018 thread. Even though we still have one semester left before applying, I thought I would start a thread to get the ball rolling and to see where everyone stands. If are applying for the program in Fall of 2018, please let us know the amount of credits you will have at the time of applying and what your cumulative and program GPA's are. As for me, I will have 30 of 30 credits completed and a cumulative GPA of 3.9, with a program GPA of 4.0.
Yeah, that is true. Which sites and times did you pick?
I already submitted my letter of intent. I didn't want to stress it. I pretty much knew which sites and times worked for me. As for the times, I'm not sure. I am guessing the registration page, however, I'm sure they want you to be available for the times on the letter of intent page.
Nice! I am leaning towards Palms of Pasadena for my first choice and then Northside and Menorah Manor for my remaining choices. I wanted nights in the beginning, but now I am torn between days and nights.
My first choice was evenings at Morton Plant and my second choice was palms of pasedena, evenings as well.
I was thinking of taking classes during the summer towards the AA so that I don't have to take that man after the nursing program.
That's my silver lining for not getting in for fall-now I can take my last three AA classes during this nice long fall semester when they're still covered by financial aid, instead of paying out of pocket to cram them into a ten week break
Do you know if there are any BSN classes that could be taken during the summer breaks from nursing school or do we have to complete the program first?
Human nutrition, developmental psychology, and I'm also going to be taking chemistry. I need these classes to get into the BSN programs I've been looking at. But everyone is at a different place when it comes to classes.
Has anyone attempted to schedule their appointment for the fingerprint screening? I submitted my payment through CastleBranch and I thought the fingerprints were included in that price but when I went on Daon's website it wants me to pay an additional $50. I'm thinking I'll have to schedule an appointment with an adviser for an answer lol.
Anyone else stressing the selection sites and times? I just want to be able to pick the best option for myself. The times on the letter of intent show Tuesdays and Wednesdays 6-3 for days and then 1-11 for nights. However, on the actual registration page, it shows 7-3 for days and 3-11 for nights. I wonder which one is correct? I'm thinking the registration page, but not sure.
Yes I am also stressing lol. I've stalked some old Allnurses forums and have heard some things about different clinical sites so I'm trying to pick the best one that isn't too far away. I read that someone went to the HEC and asked an adviser which instructor was attached to what clinical site so they could do some research. I think I'll have to talk to an adviser anyway so I may do this sometime this week. I'm planning on doing days but I'll take anything at this point lol!
