Hello!
I am finishing up my pre-reqs and will be submitting an application for the fall 2011 start of the nursing program at SPC. I am already super nervous and it seems like the horror stories of rejection due to GPA are getting worse! Is anyone else as nervous as I am?
JP1111- I called yesturday and got a call back today. They will have their decision by the end of next week and will be calling by then. Also I spoke with someone who is inchrage(can't say names) and they said they felt that I should have more experience before going right into the RN program so they are giving me the opportunity to do their CNA program. I think its a great opportunity and I'm excited to start in July.
Also I'm still waiting on the second pool letter for SPC.
Best wishes !!:)
AVM - I've been curious to see what you found out. Thank you for taking the time to update me. That's great that you have the opportunity to do their CNA program but does that mean that you are no longer being considered for RN EAYL this fall? If so, I'm sorry to hear that but it does seem that you made a favorable impression on them to be given the other opportunity. Also, best of luck with the SPC 2nd pool. :)
I know that you said they would probably be calling the end of next week. However, do you think I should call early like you did?
Jp1111- Ya I thought it was great that instead of just saying no -since they felt I didn't have enough experience they gave me a different kind of chance to prove that this is what I want. I guess it does take me out of the RN EAYl part, but there is always spring time to re-apply.
I would def. call, eventhough the secretary was the one who called me back. It is a good way to get your name brought up and it could never hurt. It shows you care and you want this.
Good Luck !!
haimyem- yes I am waiting on second pool letters.
StephDS- You can go to the HEC website and there is a GPA calculator there. As far as retaking classes, am not sure. I have heard a few different things from advisors, but I think you can as long as you got a C or lower. The best thing to do is talk with an advisor.

Anyone heard back from EAYL yet? I am wondering if I should call them to see if they have decided, but I'm not sure if that would be bothering them or not.
