SPC fall 2011 nursing program

Hello!

I am finishing up my pre-reqs and will be submitting an application for the fall 2011 start of the nursing program at SPC. I am already super nervous and it seems like the horror stories of rejection due to GPA are getting worse! Is anyone else as nervous as I am?

I am applying (yet again!) to SPC for fall 2010 and hopefully will not be rejected (again!). My GPA is extremely competitive now and I am hoping this time will be "it" for me. I already submitted my application online and now I'll sit back and wait to see what happens - only have to wait 3 more months :)

Im soo soo soo nervous I will not get in. I think my GPA is competitive, but after reading other posts I am not sure anymore. I don't have a backup plan if I don't get accepted either. Maybe go to ptec for the LPN program but I am not sure..

hello everyone.... just wanted to share with everyone... I just received my acceptance letter to spc.... I will be starting fall 2011 yeahhhhh

Anyone out there besides myself?

any graduates from RN transition that can give some feedback?

thanks

SPC Student - I have heard (and seen) that fall session is more competitive to get into, and last fall the average GPA of people that got in was a 3.9. My current GPA is a 3.89 and if they don't accept that then I will look at USF as an option. What is your GPA?

Marita1998 - I don't quite understand your posting because they haven't even had the deadline for the fall nursing program session. Acceptance letters don't go out until at least April.

I am also applying to SPC for the Fall program. I am super nervous as I live in Pasco County and Pinellas County gets first preference. I emailed a counselor who stated that I wouldn't get in due to my location, but I know several people who were in the program that lived outside of Pinellas County. I am going to meet with a counselor ON CAMPUS tomorrow to get the facts. It really discouraged me, but I am going to apply anyways no matter what. I am also applying to PHCC, as that is where I am going now for my co-reqs. I am debating on applying for the LPN program there as well just to cover all my bases.

I know this thread is kind of dead, but I'm hoping to get some answers because I've applied for the Fall 2011 program as well. I sent in my application in January and haven't heard anything yet. Anyone have any idea as to how long it takes to receive a confirmation letter? I'm so nervous - it's all I think about!! Someone put me out of my misery!!

SWingate86 - you should hear back in about a month. I know, the waiting is the hardest part!!

Tinkkey04 - sounds like you have a great plan. I put all my eggs in one basket, but will look at USF if this doesn't pan out. I know they are more competitive and need more pre-reqs, but it's definitely another option.

Yes! Waiting is definitely the hardest part...I feel so anxious!

I emailed an Academic Advisor yesterday at the HEC campus and was told that letters will be in the mail by the end of this month and the beginning of April...Second pool should know by May. I keep hearing horror stories about how hard it is to get in :uhoh3: Does anyone know what the average GPA was for the last class admitted?

Last spring the cut off was a 3.7, and I think they only chose 3 or 4 from the alternate list. Last fall the average GPA was a 3.9. Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Oh God...I only have a 3.4 :uhoh3: Is it possible to get in even with a 3.4?? It seems like it's been getting more and more competitive over the last two years..

But you still have Micro to complete, right? All is not lost if you can make an A in micro and lab, you can push it up to a 3.5. Never say never, but you might be on the alternate list depending on the GPAs for fall session.

haimyem-

My GPA is not that competitive! good job for you though! I am currently at 3.76, however I am still in Micro. If I get an A in lecture and lab I will only be at a 3.8. I have also heard this upcoming session was going to be a lot more competitive as well. I spoke with someone from the health center and was told I would hear something back around April 1st. I am so nervous!

Will I be pushed automatically to the side for the first pool because I don't have micro completed? How does that work?
