SPC fall 2011 nursing program

Published

Hello!

I am finishing up my pre-reqs and will be submitting an application for the fall 2011 start of the nursing program at SPC. I am already super nervous and it seems like the horror stories of rejection due to GPA are getting worse! Is anyone else as nervous as I am?

Hey I recieved a call today for the second interview and I am scheduled to meet with them next Wed. I am trying to find out any tips for the interview.

I talked with an advisor from SPC and he said he was the one who chose the nursing applicants for the progam. He told me that a 3.5 is the starting point that he picks from and they only pick those who have all their pre-reqs done for the Rn program.

Hi,

Hi everybody, this is my first post. I'm in the second pool for the Fall RN program. Got rejected from first pool in April while finishing up micro and stats. Letter said there are 96 total slots, 596 applicants, and only about 30 open slots left. Wow, that's competitive. Had a 3.78 then, now with a 3.83 and all courses complete. Expecting to hear back by the first week in June. Good luck everybody. What have we gotten ourselves into?

For those admitted to the program, did your major in myspc change from Nursing-PR to Nursing AS? I was checking the system last night and my major has changed though I haven't been notified of getting accepted to the program. Just curious if I've been selected and letter is in the mail.

flpsych - no, I've been accepted and I just looked and my major hasn't changed from Nursing-PR to Nursing-AS.

flpsych ~ My degree still shows nursing-pr. I'm waiting to hear about my acceptance for the Fall 2011 RN program as well. I've heard we'll be notified the first week in June. I'll make a post when I hear something. I hope other applicants will do the same. Good luck everybody.

Has anyone heard anything back from the EAYL program with Morton plant about being accepted?

I believe that I had my interview the same day as you. I haven't heard anything back yet. With the excitement of the interview, I forgot to ask what the next step in the selection process would be. Did they give you any indication as to how or when they were going to make their decision? Or, how many other people are interviewing? I heard that in the past it was decided by a committee.

Best wishes to you ... the anticipation is killing me! :)

Hey were you the one who showed up a little early for your interview I think it was on Wednesday. They didn't say much just that they're going to review the inteviews and then Terry would be giving a call at the end of the month, but I am thinking they will be calling next week. Other than that I don't know how many people were interviewed.

I'm right there with you on the anticipation it's so hard to wait. :o

Good luck, let me know if you hear anything and ill do the same.

I was a little early to my interview but I didn't see anyone else waiting. I will let you know if I hear anything. Hopefully we will get good news soon!

To the two waiting on EAYL....they have a board that the go over the applicants with and make their decisions that way, but overall D.C. (Cant say full names on here) makes the final decision.

I am so nervous for the second pool letters. I cant believe there's only 29 seats left, seems to be impossible to get in unless you have a 3.9 or a 4...ughh If I don't get in, I plan to reapply for spring 2012, but waiting till october to find out if I got in seems torturous.
