Starting a thread for applicants of the ADN program at Southwestern College for Fall 2021.
I was sent an email confirming my application was received by the nursing department this week.
I believe my points are 87 if they accept my life experiences and special circumstances.
With past semesters stats, I’m not too worried about my position. I might apply at Grossmont and City, but I prefer Southwestern because of their partnership with SDSU (PLNU has a poor NCLEX pass rate ?).
***Please read the Southwestern nursing department web site for common questions such as: when to expect acceptance, prerequisites, start dates, etc. “To be a nurse takes initiative!”***
Remember anxiety will not speed up the process or increase your odds of acceptance ?
@JenCST619 well Palomar sends out notifications in batches! We have a chance still! People with 87 got acceptances today so I’m hoping the next batch could be those with 86!!
@twinmama182 I feel like we might still have a chance at southwestern! Most people apply to all community colleges in San Diego area so a lot of people will have to choose between multiple which will open up more spots!
I didn’t apply to Palomar, I’m near the Zoo and that’s just too far away. Mira Costa would have required a move, but I still wasn’t sure about attending there.
Guess now I don’t have to move ?
I feel like by the time Grossmont & SWC get their acceptances out, half the accepted students will be attending elsewhere ? According to Grossmont, they’re taking up to 3 months to send out notices. That’ll put the date at June 1st!
Not that I’m sweating, time is flying for me.
If I don’t get in anywhere, I’ll apply for SDCC Spring semester & apply for LVN (not sure where though). I’m almost 30, I’m tired of not having a career!
I applied with 87 points to Palomar and haven’t heard anything yet. Grossmont and SWC are my top choices though. I plan on doing my SDCC application soon, I still have a take a nice photo of myself (IDK why they’re even requiring it, LOL). This is my first year applying and if I don’t get in anywhere I plan on reapplying to the CCs and applying for the first time to National University and CSUSM’s ABSN program. Trying to stay positive and hoping for the best! ??
@itsgoingtobeokay what! I feel like I’ve heard so many people say they got their acceptance letters with 87!! I’m sure you’ll be in the next batch then! I wonder how they go down the list and pick which people with 87 get accepted first!!
