  1. I was in the same position and decided to go with Grossmont. Grossmont has a 100% NCLEX pass rate, compared to SWC's 89%. Grossmont also has a really great reputation around the hospitals and community. I'm happy with the program so far. They expect a lot and it's challenging, but you will learn so much. I feel like the staff really care about our success and there are also lot of great resources like student success advisors and a mentorship program. I don't know a lot about SWC's program but have heard from coworkers who graduated from the program that they didn't get the support they needed from professors. You should also consider that the program at SWC is going to be at the Otay Mesa campus, not the main campus. Also, Grossmont's classes are only on weekdays while SWC has a weekday AND an evening/weekend program.
  2. Hi! Grossmont has a better reputation among hospitals, is in the top 10 best RN programs list for CA, and has a 100% NCLEX pass rate. It’s a really great school! SWC is great too, but they’re NCLEX pass rates were a little lower (I think 92% and then 86% the year before?). You also have to think about the fact that SWC nursing school would be in the Otay Mesa campus, not the main Chula Vista campus. If you’re wanting to do an evening/weekend program, SWC has one but Grossmont does not.
  3. I decided to accept my seat, I had 87 points. Grossmont has such an amazing RN program and I’m extremely excited to start this new journey ❤️ Good luck to everyone still waiting! Once more people get accepted we should start a facebook group!
  4. I got accepted as well with 87 points! I’m torn between swc and grossmont. Swc is closer to home by a few minutes but grossmont has a better reputation and is one of the top ADN programs in the state.
  5. Congrats on being alternates! Take it as a good sign. There's still hope and I'm sure that once Grossmont sends out acceptances, there are gonna be some people that will pick Grossmont over SWC. I've read in past forums that a lot of people from the alternate list were eventually accepted. Stay positive! ?
  6. Southwestern! It’s a lot closer to me.
  7. Thank you! I hope you hear back soon! Hang in there! Some people have received denial letters, so no news is good news!
  8. Hi guys! I got into my top choice school and will be giving up my seat at Palomar, so that’ll open a seat up for an alternate ?
  9. I was accepted today with 87 points. So excited for this journey! Good luck to everyone still waiting ❤️
  10. Did you get a denial letter from swc? Or did you just not hear back at all?
  11. Thank you ❤️ I have until Monday to respond.
  12. I just got accepted with 87 points! ? Good luck to everyone still waiting!
  13. Thank you! Wow, that's pretty soon ?
  14. Congratulations, how exciting! I'm hoping I'll get accepted soon, too. What day is the orientation? Just in case I do get accepted, I'd like to not schedule myself to work that day.
  15. Hi guys! I'm applying with 87-88 points. I haven't started my application yet but will be doing it ASAP! Does anyone know if we need to submit our immunizations with the application, or is it after acceptance?
