Starting a thread for applicants of the ADN program at Southwestern College for Fall 2021.
I was sent an email confirming my application was received by the nursing department this week.
I believe my points are 87 if they accept my life experiences and special circumstances.
With past semesters stats, I’m not too worried about my position. I might apply at Grossmont and City, but I prefer Southwestern because of their partnership with SDSU (PLNU has a poor NCLEX pass rate ?).
***Please read the Southwestern nursing department web site for common questions such as: when to expect acceptance, prerequisites, start dates, etc. “To be a nurse takes initiative!”***
Remember anxiety will not speed up the process or increase your odds of acceptance ?

The first time I did the TEAS as a test run so I got a 74 and then I did it seriously the second and got an 88...so I'm hoping they will take my second one. I also hate how I messed up and got one B in my science GPA and one B in my gen-eds so I am down by 7 points on my application ?
Unfortunately, it's true that they take your 1st TEAS result except if u fail the first try or it's been 2 yrs since u took your first attempt. Don't lose hope. I had a B in anatomy. Nursing schools are open now, at least most of them so I'm guessing that competition will loosen up compared to the previous year. Good luck and I hope you earn a spot.

Do you need the Physical Exam part filled out by a doctor before submitting the application? Thank you!
Yes, you need all that filled out, stamped, and signed to complete your application. Can be a doctor, PA, or NP. As long as they are a provider, not a nurse or MA.
You are also more than welcome to start your own SWC Fall 2022 thread as I did here for us currently in the 2023 cohort ?
