Southwestern College ADN Fall 2019

Published

Hi everyone! I’m starting this thread so we can share our application criteria points with each other! I just turned in my application today. I have between 85 and 88 points. I have 3 B’s on my science prerequisites :((, 4.0 gpa for all the general Ed courses. I have fluency in Spanish, an associates degree, CNA, and volunteer experience. I scored an 88 on my TEAS! I hope they can look past my grades in my prerequisite courses and I get in!!! I hope we all get into this cohort! Good luck everyone

My mom works at Paradise Valley Hospital and Bayview Hospital. I was really hoping it would be this week so that I could screenshot an acceptance email and print it out for my mom to give it to her on mother’s day ?

Oh cool! I live down the street from paradise valley hospital. Are those the only 2 hospitals that southwestern is partnered up with? Awww, man that would have been nice.

I’m not sure if they do clinicals there. My mom just knows them because they hired southwestern graduates and she gets to work close with them and orient them

Ooooh ok. Gotcha.

What I don’t understand is that compared to other schools they had the applications since the end of Jan. They had a full 3 months to go over applications! This is super frustrating. ?

Did anyone apply to city's nursing program? I tried to look at their website for possible info on their spring application deadline, if they have one and their website is down and I literally couldn't find any info about their nursing program. So weird. I was thinking about applying for fall but their deadline was way too early for me.

SD City college doesn't have a spring application cycle, unfortunately. They only have a fall application cycle where they accept 60 students for the following fall.

I didn't apply to City because their deadline was also too early for me, but City's point system is similar to Grossmont, Palomar, and Mira Costa's point systems.

Did anyone get a call to submit missing paperwork today? I wonder what they are doing?

I did... They were missing my titer values. Apparently this was needed in addition to the school form.

I think we will know by tomorrow at the latest. Hang in there!

Well, that's a good sign for you! I looked back at your points and you're at 76. I'm not anticipating a call because my doctors office lvn printed out just about everything I would need. He really looked out for me.
