Southwestern College ADN Fall 2019

Hi everyone! I’m starting this thread so we can share our application criteria points with each other! I just turned in my application today. I have between 85 and 88 points. I have 3 B’s on my science prerequisites :((, 4.0 gpa for all the general Ed courses. I have fluency in Spanish, an associates degree, CNA, and volunteer experience. I scored an 88 on my TEAS! I hope they can look past my grades in my prerequisite courses and I get in!!! I hope we all get into this cohort! Good luck everyone

Did you guys not have your immunizations complete in the application? I didnt know they closed early on fridays. Yea, probably wont hear back today.

Yeah I didn’t turn in my own copy of immunization records bc I thought they only wanted their forms complete so that’s my bad ? but I’m really glad they check everything thoroughly so if someone forgets a form or a signature then they could fix it and still have a chance

I'm not sure if I did either. An lvn at my doctors office printed out alot of stuff for me because he wanted to make sure I had everything for nursing school. I'm not sure if that was the immunization records or not.

What are your points?

I’m sure they’d call you if anything was missing! I believe I have 86 points for my associates degree, 4.0 gpa, cna, 84.7 on the teas and 1 life point

Dang, you just missed full points on your teas. I bet you were upset. But you have good points either way

Trust me, I was SO UPSET. Those English and grammar questions really getcha ?

Yup that's what I bombed too. I got almost 90s on math and science and 70s in grammar/English. 82.7% I felt like I couldn't put together a sentence after seeing those scores.? and the questions with the misspelled words. After looking at the misspelled words, I forgot how its actually spelled?

Right!! Ahh we were so close !! But I think we should all be fine. My mom orients new nurses at her hospital and she said that she has a new nurse that just graduated from swc and she got in with 70-75 points I think

With brightwood closing down it got me nervous with how many more nurses would be applying. Which hospital is that? I always wondered what hospitals southwestern does clinicals in.

Yea, I felt they wouldn't put it out on a Friday. But idk maybe they will push send right before they go home for the weekend. Lol

My mom works at Paradise Valley Hospital and Bayview Hospital. I was really hoping it would be this week so that I could screenshot an acceptance email (if I even get one) and print it out for my mom to give it to her on mother’s day ?
