Hi everyone!! Congratulations to all those who got accepted!!! For those who didn’t hear back from Southwestern, try to stay positive! They may still be sending out acceptances. I applied to Grossmont, Southwestern, and Palomar. I luckily was accepted to Grossmont’s program. When I submitted my Southwestern application, I was missing my form for my Flu shot. So my app was incomplete. I was convinced they threw out my application, but they gave me a call last week asking for me to bring the form. I said no thank you, I was accepted into another program. And then we hung up! That was that! I can’t say I was going to be offered a seat at Southwestern, but I definitely didn’t take a seat in the cohort either. I hope that helps stay positive you guys! I know it’s very very hard to deal with all this uncertainty and waiting. If you never hear back, prepare yourself to make sure you make your application the best it can be. Go and volunteer at nursing homes. Brighton Place on Euclid would loveeeeee volunteers and you can go as much as you want. Apply to as many schools as possible. Get your CNA. See how many of those extra points you can score! Dig deep y’all! You got this!!! I hope to see all of you on the floor at the hospital some day! Keep striving for this!!!

Same here!! If I was given all of my points, I was at 86 points! I checked every box! CNA, second language, 4.0 GE gpa, 3.0 science prereq gpa, associates degree, 120 volunteer hours, and 5 points for life experience points. I think that was my saving grace!!!! I was able to get points for everything! For those that didn’t get in this round, so whatever you can to get more points!! Y’all got this! Good luck to you next cohort!

You are the kindest!!!! Thank you for the extremely encouraging reply to my original post! I actually just found out yesterday that I got a spot at Grossmont College’s Fall 2019 ADN program, and I accepted that seat! I hope Southwestern starts sending out acceptance emails soon! If I get a spot, I will give up my seat so that someone else can take it. Keep your fingers crossed everyone! We all put in the time and effort to get to where we are now, and we are all deserving of the opportunity! Good luck to everyone who applied at Southwestern!

Absolutely!!!!!! You are completely right!!! Do your best in the classes! Retake them if you can!! Try and check every single box on the multi criteria points sheet!!! If you do that, you have a great chance of getting in! I’m so excited to meet all of you May 31st at orientation!!!! Great job everybody!

I got my email of acceptance earlier today!!!! Currently freaking out!!! I had between 81-86 points! I’m not sure how much they gave me, but I assume I was closer to 86 because the competition was fierce!!!! I’m currently bringing my acceptance letter of intent to grossmont!! And freaking out!!

Last year's Fall cohort didn't get notified about acceptances until around April 29th......it's a long long wait for Southwestern because it's just one woman looking at the applications. We will know about the other schools (Grossmont, Palomar, MCC) a week or two earlier than Southwestern! HOPEFULLY! That's how it looked last year

Sadly I think I was missing my Flu form, and I tried to turn it in after the application cut off! Hopefully she will include it in my application and I’m still a candidate! Goodness she is strict! Still waiting patiently! We got this y’all!
