Southwestern College ADN Fall 2018 Cohort

Published

I just wanted to start a topic for this upcoming Southwestern ADN cohort (Fall 2018)! What are everyone's stats? (GPA, Teas, etc). I'm also applying at San Diego City, Palomar College, Grossmont and National University.

According to their website, they have evening/weekend and day/weekday classes. If I get in, I'm would like to be in the evening/weekend class.

Yah I have friends doing both days and evening.

evening is tues 5-7

Thursday 1-6

Saturday 6am-530p

I am begging for the evening one if not ill go to city college

I heard that 40 of those students will be morning and 20 will get evenings... if I'm not mistaken I guess it's prioritized by points. But they will ask which one you'd like. If I get in I'm happy w either day or evening... but If they ask I'll pick day to let someone who really needs evening have it :) I'm so nervous! I take me teas this weekend lol.

Good luck..

that's so nice of you.

yes evening is really for me

@pansiegoboy Wow! Do you know if those hours are for the theory portion only? What's their clinical schedule like? I'm hoping for an evening schedule. But I think the only way that'll happen is if someone in the evening schedule in the last cohort drops out / fails.

Hi everyone! I'm applying for Grossmont's Fall 2018 ADN program. Do City and Southwestern have the same application dates (Feb-March 2018 for Fall 2018)?

Hi @SMyers05, not sure about City but Southwestern does not. Our application deadline is 6 days from now, Wednesday the 31st. :)

Good luck!!! You got this!

I was also told by my counselor during my SEP meeting that this year's average points is seemingly lower than last year's. This is strictly hearsay, but gives me the feeling that it'll be easier to get into the program this time around! Hope that applies for both the Step Up and the generic program! :)

Oh really? Did they mention the average score by any chance?

I have a meeting with my counselor and I'll try to ask her too!

@pansiegoboy Oh I see! I think our equivalent to that is the dosage calculation test the LVNs have to take once they've reviewed our apps. We have to pass with a 90% or more to be considered, and then from there we're chosen in order of points from highest to lowest. Yes I also hear that there's usually around 10 students that can enter! So hypothetically if I got accepted again, I'd be joining the cohort that started last fall.

theory was Tuesday and Thursday and Saturday is clinical

Hey guys I'm also applying I was wondering if anyone knows how for sure it is that will get the fix extra points .what type of statements do they require?

Hello everyone! I am also applying, this is my first time applying. I am only applying to Swc since I have some special circumstances. My points are a bit lower compared to some of you 73-74 so I really hope I have a chance. I am also applying for the LVN program at Swc just in case. :nailbiting:

Don't worry to much! It all depends on who is applying

Thank you Marie! So I'm a little worried now. I just finished my teas and my total points for the program should be 75-76 points! Does anybody know last years cutoff?
