I am wondering if anyone is on the waitlist, or currently enrolled in the solano nursing program in fairfield? i have been on the waitlist about 6 months and i am just curious how long people have waited, and if you are in the program, how is it? thanks so much!

Hi sneagle25, I'm interested in replies for this thread also. I'm finishing my last class soon (5 wks) and will be applying here shortly thereafter. Good luck!

Hello!

I am actually currently on the waitlist at solano college. I applied last semester (Fall 2008) and I am currently number 330 on the waitlist; I was number 363. When I went to the informational meeting, the nursing staff said that if you are around 100 on the waitlist, that you can count on getting in th enext semester. I hope this helps you get sort of an idea how long it takes. good luck to you!

Hi! i have not applied to the solano rn program but my cousin has been on the waiting list for three years... she is pretty bummed out about it plus she has been applying to alot of the other nursing nursing schools around here and still nothing. you would think that since they are always saying there is a nursing shortage that they'd open more accredited schools around here for Rn and Vn instead of pumping out all of these medical assistant programs. Even though we need them too but come on sooner or later those M.A's are goning to want to pursue a career in nursing too. I know I did after being a medical assistant for 2 and a half years. Good luck.

Hey guys, how do they rank you according to the waitlist? Is it the higher gpa you have?

i am currently on solano community college rn waitlist as well. my number is a little less than 100 and they told me i am not getting in this fall which means by the time i do get in (hopefully in spring 2010) it will be two and a half years wait time for me. unfortunately your wait number is not based on your gpa.

Hello future Solano students! So i am checking in with people still on the waitlist (as i am too). I just received my new number of 172 which went down significantly since my last semester at 354! Just wondering if anyone has gotten in, I think it will be a less than two year waitlist at this point. I am getting so anxious! If you are currently in the program, I am looking for information on what your schedule is like in the program, and if it is possible to commute at all, or if you should live right by campus? Any info helps... thanks!

sneagle25 you are getting closer to you goal :))! now let’s see. your number is 172, right? you just got the letter that was probably dated 10/1/09. last october 2008 my letter stated that my new waiting list number was 130. in the beginning of february 2010 you will get another letter and your number will probably go down by 35 or so after they accept students for the spring 2010 class. so your new number in february will be around 137. my number went down in february 2009 and the new number was 95. with this number 95 i did not get accepted in august (fall program). however i am starting the program this spring, as my number now is 24. so, if my calculations are correct you will probably get accepted in the spring class 2011. but hopefully i am wrong and you’ll get in sooner. i waited two and a half years. i hope you don’t have to. as far as the schedule goes i am not sure, but i think once a week you’ll have to be at the hospital for some clinical work at around 7:00am. you can actually go to solano community college web site and see the schedule for nursing. just login, go to look up classes and pick nursing from your class drop down menu and you’ll be able to see the last semester’s schedule. hope this helps and good luck!!!

Hi, I was intrested to hear how all of the people on the waitlist are doing? Are you in yet? Do you know how fast the waitlist is going currently? As of January I was #403. I still have not taken my TEAS exam so I am hoping to get an idea of when I will need to take it by. Good luck to everyone! I have applied to ARC and Sac City 2 times with no luck, hopefully this Spring will be my time!

Hello everyone :) Hey I should be in your class maybe sneagle25! Last Oct I was just on at 347, and now I got my letter yesterday that I went all the way down to 149!!! I was really hoping to just be under 200, so was totally shocked when I got my letter. I am very excited to finally be making so headway, and also trying to guess as to when that means I'll get in...I'm thinking Jan 2011...It seems like there should be almost no one dropping out once you get so far up the list :nurse:(future me) Hey does anyway know when I would take the TEAS?

Hi HappyJen, WOW you moved a lot! That's so encouraging. I just joined the list in Sept 2010 and my number was 486. I emailed their nursing program and was told that they only take students once per year, but you'll definitely be in soon. How long have you been waiting?

Just last year, August 2009, it took me June 08 until then to cram in all those prereqs (summer with Micro and Physio was the least fun summer ever!) It's surprising how many people either dropped off, or I guess got into another program, maybe Napa...I have kids too so can't commute, so I vowed to stay here in Fairfield however long it takes
