I had figured that this might be an interesting topic of discussion.
What color are the uniforms that you all wear to clinical rotations? I currently attend an LPN-to-RN bridge program. The scrubs at the school that I currently attend are maroon. We have the option of wearing a white warm-up jacket on cool days.
When I was attending an LVN program back in 2004 and 2005, our uniforms consisted of a royal blue scrub top and white pants. We also had the option of wearing a white warm-up jacket on cold days.
We have to wear "true red" scrubs (top and bottom) to clinical and street clothes to class. I think it's to make it abundantly clear who the students are, because we sure stick out in a crowd. The hospital has color codes -- navy scrubs for nurses, teal scrubs for aids, grey for housekeeping/nutrition, and the doctors all wear green scrubs or professional clothes with a white lab coat.
White tops with royal trim. White pants. Other days we can wear whatever colors we want. The funniest part was in order I have to cover my tattoo I have to wear a white turtle neck. I live in Texas so first I'm not sure where you even find a turtle neck, I am hoping that I might get by with a long sleeve shirt that is all white. I hate the idea of having a tight collar around my neck.
