its really not as bad as you are thinking it is, trust me. i was always horrible in math and science in school,and i passed it.i quit high school and went and got my GED, i hadnt been in school for a long time. just do your best and dont let it intimidate you. the harder you are on yourself the harder it will be. good luck!

and yes i also agree with the previous post,spend alot of time with your family...you will have to study alot and wont have time for much else

my classes where also about the same,just not in that order...yes you will need to know conversions such as grains,grams,mg,mcg ect. other than that study hard,be prepared...make sure when you are studying to know your stuff. i am also im an fast pace program,just not at ecpi.but kind of the same style of learning.it is fast pace and you have to be dedicated.i am in a 14 month program and i am now in med surg 2 class and med surg 2 clinicals.i have 6 months left.its hard at times,especially if you have a family.but it is worth it,and it goes by so fast.good luck

i study pretty much everyday,at least 2 to 3 hours a day.im one of those people who if i study more than that i dont retain the information im reading and i shut down.i will study an hour,do somethings i need to do like laundry ect. and then go back an hour,then go do something else i have to do,then go back for another hour. that works best for me.then the night before a test ill review all my notes and review key points from all of my previous study sessions.i keep flash cards with me at all times and when im just sitting around or btw doing something i kinda flip them out and go through them really quick. i get at least 6 hours of sleep a night so im not a zombie the next day.

i agree with the other replies.check out the tuition,pass rates,whats included with tuition(books,uniforms ect...)and make sure to shop around for the best prices also,private institutes can be really costly.i am also going to a private institute and it is 23,000,it has a great pass rate though.make sure there isnt any monthly fees other than the cost of the program.i applied to a few and got alot of suprises with hidden fees.so please make sure everything is clear about everything they tell you before you sign anything.make sure and check with their financial aid to make sure what they offer also...hope this helps

mine is 23,400.00 that includes books,lab fees,med equipment ect... i had to buy my scrubs,shoes.

my program is 14 months long.i start on january 25th and my graduation date is set for march 22 2011.i start in 4 days and i am soooo nervous

all royal blue scrubs for class,and for clinicals white scrub pants with a royal blue polo shirt and a white vest supplied by the school

hello this is actually my 1st time posting.im am not a nurse yet but i am going to school to be an L.P.N. i am muslim.yes the headscarf is called a hijab.no i dont see why you should wear one because you are not muslim and you do not wear one on normal days.muslims are quite used to dealing with women who dont wear hijab.in most muslim countries alot of muslim women do not wear it.personally i dont wear it either,but that is my personal choice. it really depends on the person that you are caring for also.muslims like anyone else are people,there are really religious muslims and there are more laid back muslims.some muslims will not let someone of the opposite sex take care of them and some dont mind.islamically as muslims we are supposed to have someone of the same sex take care of us,but we can have them if the someone of the same sex isnt available.put it this way,my doctor is male.but some muslims dont feel that way.once again it all just depends on the person.just make them feel comfortable with respecting their religion,thats all you have to do.most muslims are happy that you ask about their religion so that they can tell you.dont be afraid to ask them if you want to know. once again just respect their religion,dont try to conform to it unless that is what you believe.hope this helps some.

i start school for my lpn january 25th and my program is 14 months,monday through thursday from 8am to 2:30pm.I dont work but my husband does and i have 3 children so hopefully everything goes well.im excited but nervous at the same time.
