Snow day! :) or :(

Published

We have a snow day here in northern Indiana. While I'm glad for the chance to get some things done here at home I've been neglecting, I'm finding myself worrying about some of my kids. Are they home alone? Are they eating? Sigh.

We've only had one snow day which is pretty typical for us southerners. I'm thankful for that one but would have loved more. Trees are already blooming here so I don't expect anymore cold snowy days.

But tomorrow is "Teacher Appreciation Day" where we got a 2 hour brunch with a sub from 10-12 and we get to go home at noon! YAY!

We usually have ice or flood days, and we have had zero this year!

8 so far this year. About 3 were warranted. Now our spring break got shaved down by 3 days (I already had an MD appt for one of them, too! Grrrrr) and we are here for an extra week in June. I am one grouchy tomato.

I wonder if my kids are warn enough on cold or snowy days. I also worry about them when it rains. We have been having some serious rain here lately and one of my kids told me he likes playing in the creek when it rains. First graders do not belong in rising waters during the rain!!!

No snow days yet this year, I wouldn't mind at least one!

This causes such an uproar! And I think it should- many people plan their vacations (employees included!) when they get the spring break dates and then are punished for taking them.

Even though you have blue hair and no visible demarcations between your teeth, you truly get me.

Northeast Indiana here, we were supposed to get quite a bit of snow out of that storm and got maybe 3/4 of an inch, lol. We didn't even get a delay out of it. Was kind of bummed, such a work up over it and it turned out to be such a big flop. Haven't had a snow day yet. Have three built in snow days that are on Friday's that we will be getting off though... one before SB, two after...

no - no snow days and i am happy about it. it means no shoveling that terrible white stuff and it means we get out early!!

I think during Sandy all we ended up losing was teacher convention - i think the state called those lost days a wash since practically when whole state was out for a week.
