SMU (Samuel Merritt University) BSN Spring 2020

Published

Hello everyone!!

I just wanted to start a thread for the Spring 2020 term at SMU because I know applications are due soon (July 1st), feel free to drop your stats and all of that good stuff!

I’m also waitlisted. It’s killing me to see how many people will be pulled from the waitlist. Good luck to you

I am in the same situation with commuting. I will have to commute from Rohnert Park (near Santa Rosa) for the first semester at least. Is anyone out in this area?

Yay congrats!

How hard was it to make an appointment for financial aid?

Also if you search up SMU BSN Curriculum they have it on their website! It's 15 units our first semester, then 18, 20, and finally 14. I don't remember the classes exactly.

Thank you! ?

It wasn't hard at all! It was really quick and easy to make. You can make an in-person appointment at the financial aid office to review everything. I just called the number from the website and they were really helpful.

I'm also from Sac area and I plan on moving there for school. Going to the Spring Preview Day and seeing the students talk about their busy schedules, I already know that I would not do well having to commute all the way from Sac to Oakland.

Anyone looking for moving a bit closer at least 30 min away and commute that way? I am looking for possible roommates if anyone is interested?

Did you happen to catch what their typical schedule is like?

I know when I went to the orientation, a current student said there was actually 3 girls who commuted from Napa in her cohort. I would just love to pick the Brain of someone in this situation because I have tons of questions! @wgu where would you be commuting from?

I would be commuting from Roseville! The girls on Instagram are named Sasha and Pao and have been extremely helpful on questions. They are in the second semester already. There Instagram is sashaandpaofuturern they commute but I don't think as far and they were able to get their schedules two days a week and 1 day clinical.

I just completed my FAFSA for SMU the other day. Does anyone know if I should call them to make an appointment or they will reach out? I still need to figure out what the whole financial picture looks like and how I will pay. Anyone else? Also, will anyone be commuting from Sacramento to the Oakland campus for the BSN?

They said it takes about a week once you add them to schools. I was able to make an appointment with an advisor and gave myself a buffer for them to recieve it. I have so many questions that I was like I just need to go in and talk to someone
