SMU (Samuel Merritt University) BSN Spring 2020

Published

Hello everyone!!

I just wanted to start a thread for the Spring 2020 term at SMU because I know applications are due soon (July 1st), feel free to drop your stats and all of that good stuff!

Hello! I’m glad you started this thread. Im applying for the Spring 2020 and I’m getting excited. I’m a little nervous because I have 5 pre requisites that are still in progress. (I’m taking 2 classes over the Summer and then 3 in the Fall). I’m hoping this won’t reflect negatively on my application. I got an overall 85% on my HESI and I have 5 years paid experience in healthcare as a lab technician. Good luck to everyone applying!

Hi there, I’m applying for spring 2020 as well. I just took the Hesi and got an overall 87% . I felt it was harder than the TEAS! I have 3 non-science prerequisites to complete still in fall. I don’t know my exact overall GPA right now, but I believe my science GPA is a 3.69. I have ICU volunteer experience as well. Just waiting for my second reference to complete their file so I can submit my application. You may want to verify how many prerequisite can be in progress because I read on an old thread someone said they had 4 prerequisites in progress and they got denied, but I’m not sure how true that is. Just a heads up and Best of luck! I’m nervous!

I asked about my pre requisites today in the live chat room...I guess it depends on how competitive the pool is that applies. ????

Hello ladies and gentlemen!

I applied as well to the spring 2020 Sacramento campus cohort. I received a 87.8% on my HeSI but my science GPa is lacking at a 3.0. I had 2 amazing references. I am in progress with micro and the communication class they require, not a normal communications class as far as what I was required to take for my BS degree. I have dental experience of 15 years, but not medical. I am praying I get in!

Now we wait till October!

Good luck to you all!

Good luck to you too!!

Sacramento 2020 ABSN/ELMSN candidate here! This is the only 2020 thread going so far ? One science prerequisite in progress (chem) and sociology, - also taking patho/pharm this fall at Samuel Merritt (only a req for the ABSN!).

HESI 92%

Pre-req GPA 3.2

Last 60hrs: tbd (NursingCAS isn't liking my pass/fail classes?)

Hello!

I applied to the ABSN program in Sac for Spring 2020!

HESI: 90%

Last 60 gpa: 3.9

Science gpa: 3.2

Good luck everyone! :)

@MarissaG your going to get in! I wish I had a higher gpa! I am actually registered for fall to retake physiology since I got a C (I had a horrible teacher). I’m hoping that helps!

@kbena your stats are also great! I am just going to pray! October feels so long!!!

Yep @MarissaG is a shoe in for sure.

@Tiffany Tereba My GPA isn’t that great as NursingCAS is calculating my pass/fail classes as a C. Hoping to have a solution soon as it’s definitely not a fair assessment and I graduated with a 3.4 gpa overall!

but my science GPA is not the lowest so there’s still some hope ?

has anyone done any volunteering to boost their app?

@kbena Samuel Merritt is the only school that includes the chemistry grade in the sciences gpa... and I got a C. So that hurt me terribly!

Hello all ? I applied to the Sac ABSN cohort for Spring 2020. Is everyone here for BSN? ABSN? A mix of both? Good luck to everyone!
