SJSU Spring 2018

Published

Hey guys, I have not yet seen a thread for the SJSU Spring 2018 Nursing Program... so I decided to make one! I know it's a little early to start posting, but I am too excited and wanted to meet others that are applying! Here is a thread for all questions/concerns/comments! Hope to see and meet you all!!

Thank you! Please do let us know if you happen to find out before us :)

Hey guys! I asked the professor how many applications were received and she said "247, but doubt it will be more than 160 really good ones (complete and qualify)"

Ahh that's so scary :(

Hi all, currently a 2nd semester student in the nursing program at SJSU. I talked to Prof. M, who's in charge of admissions and she said for Fall 2017, they got over 300 legit applications. For Spring 2018 however, I'm pretty sure it'll be much less; not alot of applicants like graduating in the December. Good luck getting into the program!

Does anyone know what we would get is we didn't get in and when we would get it? There's always a number of applications that aren't completed or qualified for the program so I was wondering if anyone would know when or how we would know if we were one of those applicants. Good luck to everyone!

we all get notified at the same time because all the acceptance/denial letters get sent out at the same time. You basically get a letter and email saying why you didn't get in, such as you didn't make the supplemental GPA criteria or you simply didn't have a high enough impaction score.

I really hope that a lot of those applicants didn't know that SJSU doesn't accept transfer in spring. I am shocked at how many people applied because when I went in October for UPN meeting, there were only 3 or 4 people in the room who were applying. :o Where did this number come from. So many applicants with Bachelors :o

I was super surprised too, and other people I told. There was one year where there were 61 people in the qualifying applicant pool, so basically everyone but one unlucky person got in. It was recently too. There were definitely less than 10 people at the UPN meeting I went to, where did all these people come from ): I agree, hopefully it's people who didn't know that transfers aren't accepted fornspring...

So I also heard that there was a spring semester in which roughly 60 people applied and I was hoping for us that it would be the same. But I talked to one of the prenursing advisors and they said it will always vary. So hopefully we get an exact number of the qualified applicants. Still hoping for the best for us!!!

When do you think they'll have a better estimate in regards to how many applicants are actually legitimate to apply??

When I applied we never even found out how many had applied. However, there are definitely less applicants for a spring start because only SJSU student can apply. So this will definitely increase your likelihood of getting accepted. Good luck!

I had a friend who was admitted in spring 2017 and she was told that 200 people applied whereas this spring 2018 160 people applied.
