No, she told us that it was the usual expected amount for fall admission, around 250-300. That is pretty large, but expected. As you guys probably know its usually narrowed down to around 150 when looking at actual qualifiable applications

We (the semester before you guys) got it by mail only, no email.... However the director of admissions said she might just do emails for you guys to save on postage lol....

Hey! Well, I really only applied and really looked into SJSU because it was my top choice! So I dont know about other schools! But I can tell you that probably all nursing schools are going to be very different from any schooling experience you have had in the past. What I feel in my SJSU classes, not only are you learning the theory, but application as well. They are constantly telling us that what we learn is what we are going to bring into clinicals. Our learning is very hands on and very application based. A lot of our instructors have been nurses or nurse practioners for years, so we have a lot of wisdom and knowledge at our disposal. They definitely dont mess around, but thats good so it makes us even sharper for clinicals and eventually the field! Something i find is unique about SJSU is the cohort closeness. Ive always heard of nursing students being very competitive with eachother at other nursing schools. All the cohorts here at SJSU are very tight-knit! We all have eachother's backs, we share notes, we vent about homework and test and professors. Its like a family! And its good, because youre basically stuck with the same people for 3 years lol. And theres so many fun extracurriculars, like clubs and the nursing frat. And so many alumni come back and tell us how they got into new grad programs right after graduating and passing the NCLEX, and a lot of them are pursing their NP. So theres always some bad, but definitely a lot of good comes out of this program. I can keep going on and on, but I hope that gave you some insight to make a decision :)

I only received an email regarding a HESI fee. not really sure what it is, but it says in the email it will be further explained at orientation.

Nevermind, I figured it out, just sent in my application for NSO. So I didn't realize that the TB test can't expire during the semester, so my results got rejected because I did it on dec 4. I already rescheduled another test for December 18th. However, I logged on to castlebranch today and the Tb status changed from REJECTED to COMPLETED. There is still a note though that says to submit a report with the correct date, but there is no option to re-upload a document. Im confused, why did it change to COMPLETED and how do I upload my new test if there is no option to....

Im trying to get the liability insurance through NSO like it says on the nursing website. Its asking for "area of study". What did you guys put, whoever did the insurance already? Because none of the options seems to fit....

If I have to get my Hep B shots, will they still accept it if the series is in progress? Because if not Im kind of screwed... Will a positive titer be enough?

Online, for the vaccinations it says proof for 3 hep shots and the TDAP is required. I don't have any records so I have no choice but to get those done anways... ugh I'll be cutting it pretty close if I have to wait a month to re-titer...

Super lame. Also, im kinda confused about the vaccinations... My parents have no idea where my vaccination records are and I haven't had a booster for anything since I don't know when. So I'm going to have to get boosters, the hep series, and the titers all at once?

Oops, I just signed up for a class on December 1st at Heartshare. Should I cancel... It says that the card will last for 2 years

So I looked at the Student Health Center site, and it seems it has all the stuff we need to do! Quantiferon tests, labs, titers, immunizations, physical. I bet if we say we are nursing students they'll know all we need to do. I'll probably just go there and get everything done, what about you guys?
