SJSU Spring 2018

Hey guys, I have not yet seen a thread for the SJSU Spring 2018 Nursing Program... so I decided to make one! I know it's a little early to start posting, but I am too excited and wanted to meet others that are applying! Here is a thread for all questions/concerns/comments! Hope to see and meet you all!!

I wish they would give us more instructions or information on this with the packet that they sent. I'm so clueless x-x. Also, on castlebranch, Im stuck on the employment page because it wouldn't let me skip to the next step. Is it asking for my last employment/job? What if I never worked before? o_o how can I skip?

If you know you've gotten vaccinations at some point, just get all of the titers done so check for immunity. This is the best thing to do anyways to make sure you are really immune and not just vaccinated. So get all titers done, and if one comes back negative then you can get the vaccine/booster for that and then you will need to re-titer in a month.

Not really sure what I put, it's been a while since I filled it out but for employment you can just try putting "Student" or N/A maybe?

Online, for the vaccinations it says proof for 3 hep shots and the TDAP is required. I don't have any records so I have no choice but to get those done anways... ugh I'll be cutting it pretty close if I have to wait a month to re-titer...

Hey, do you guys know if people who are in an official major (back-up major) change automatically to Nursing in the following weeks like those who are Undeclared/Pre-Nursing? I am a Nutrition concentration in Dietetics major. I chose this as my back-up and I got accepted into the nursing program but I was worried that I needed additional paperwork for the change of major since I am not a Pre-Nursing major.

If I have to get my Hep B shots, will they still accept it if the series is in progress? Because if not Im kind of screwed... Will a positive titer be enough?

If you're in the process of completing the series just upload what you have so far. Real people look at what is uploaded and they will send you customized notifications as to what is due next. Don't stress

I would call the office and ask! Just to be safe.

@rnlab Do you have any recommendations on where to get our CPR Certification? On CastleBranch it says we can get it through "American Heart Association Healthcare Provider course OR American Red Cross Basic Life Support OR PALS AND ACLS."

I got an email from dr. m saying to wait until hey change our major to Nursing to enroll in HPROF 100w. So it the other classs I signed up for the wrong one? I signed up for HPRF 100w...

No, HPRF 100W is correct. You can take HPRF/NURS/HS 100W, and I believe CHAD 100W in place of Area Z.
