SJSU Spring 2018

Published

Hey guys, I have not yet seen a thread for the SJSU Spring 2018 Nursing Program... so I decided to make one! I know it's a little early to start posting, but I am too excited and wanted to meet others that are applying! Here is a thread for all questions/concerns/comments! Hope to see and meet you all!!

Hi! I currently have a hold on my mysjsu account and can't register for any classes!! Were any of you able to register for the nursing courses yet?

Try emailing your advisor with a copy of your acceptance letter! I had an AARS hold on my account since they didn't want me signing up for classes until they knew forsure I was in my major. They told me to email them after i got my acceptance as verification to lift the hold.

is the group advising this friday mandatory?

If you're referring to the email from Dr. XXX about the update on orientation thats just the signature on the bottom. The group advising is for students who are interested in the program!

Yeah you were right! I got all my titers done at Kaiser and I only paid $10. I also had to pay an additional $10 for the quantiferon but I got them all done there.

If anyone has specific questions there is a powerpoint with castlebranch information on the SCHOOL OF NURSING SITE. There is a person you can contact with any questions you might have, she answers pretty quickly.

I dont know where to sign up for the CPR classes guys. I signed up for a class but I discovered it was a SCAM; it was a good thing I looked into it before paying for anything.

I signed up for a CPR class on December 14th is that too early? should I cancel?

does anyone know how much it would cost to get titers done at sjsu health center?

hey lauura,

Sorry to ask but was the titers for the TDAP test? Also was the cost $10 with or without insurance?

I know the Hepatitis B titer is $23 and I believe the quantiferon tuberculosis is $ 40 something.

Hi Maree_aa,

I have insurance at Kaiser and I only had to pay the copay which is $ 10 and I was able to get the titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hep B, and Varicella. I think it depends on what coverage you have but mine was able to cover the costs of the titers. All i did was contact my physician and explained that I needed the blood work done for nursing school , and she put in the order for me. She was also able to put in the order for tuberculosis Quantiferon, and that was only $10 as well.
