SJSU Fall 2016

Published

Hi guys, I couldn't find a thread for the Fall 2016 program so I thought I would make one! It'll be awesome to meet people who are applying to the same nursing program! It would also be nice to get a general idea of this semester's applicant pool since I'm pretty sure everyone is quite nervous!

I believe that Fall 2015 cut-off score was 7.25 and in Spring 2016, students were accepted with 7.0 impaction score. So I have no idea if it will increase or decrease this time around, but it might be closer to the previous Fall semester...

Pre-Req GPA (According to 4-unit Anatomy, 5-unit Micro, 5-unit Physio, 3-unit Stats, 3-unit Eng): 3.85

TEAS Score: 87.3

Impaction Score: 7.65

Goodluck everyone! :)

Did you get accepted?

Didn't get accepted either. The impaction score was crazy high this year! Well congratulations everybody :)

Congrats to everyone who got in! I got an email stating that I am one of the 15 people on the pending list. Might be too early to ask. But, is there anyone that's been accepted but going to another school other than sjsu?

Got an email saying that the impaction cutoff score was at 7.46. I'm probably the last person on that pending list =x

I got my acceptance letter today too! For those who did their intent to enroll and paid the 70 dollars today, it says "This step (third step) will not complete until we have uploaded your payment confirmation into Next Steps which could take 2-3 business days." But that will be next week (which is after May 1). It said on the payment page that if they don't receive the payment by May 1st then we will get automatically get kicked out of the system. I'm worried that will happen! Please let me know if these are two different things...

@Ahri I believe the cutoff score is lower than that! I got in with a 7.45

@thao22 My e-mail says "The cutoff impaction score this first round for this pool only was ~7.46." This leads me to believe that the 52 who had those scores were accepted but a few must have declined, allowing students with lower scores to be accepted.

Hey ahri - I was told the same thing as you and im in the pending list- have they told you where you are on the pending list?

@sara1014 I received a email saying that I was in the 53-60 group but not the exact number.

@ahri @sara1014 you can email Dr.Malloy and ask what rank # you are

Hey guys!

for those that got the acceptance letter, did it say 'provisional' acceptance?

Also, can you guys let me know when you receive the second email about next steps (response form, background check, etc.)

thanks a lot!

@thao22 It should have said provisional acceptance because you still have a few steps to complete before you are completely qualified. That means you have a reserved spot in the nursing program until you finish the remaining steps (ex. background check, drug screening, shots, physical exam, etc). You can lose this spot if you don't finish the remaining steps! Not sure if that's that Next Steps email you were talking about since I haven't been accepted but there is also a Next Steps orientation for transfer students so I'm a little confused if the Next Steps you are talking about is post-acceptance to nursing program.
