SJSU Fall 2016

Hi guys, I couldn't find a thread for the Fall 2016 program so I thought I would make one! It'll be awesome to meet people who are applying to the same nursing program! It would also be nice to get a general idea of this semester's applicant pool since I'm pretty sure everyone is quite nervous!

I believe that Fall 2015 cut-off score was 7.25 and in Spring 2016, students were accepted with 7.0 impaction score. So I have no idea if it will increase or decrease this time around, but it might be closer to the previous Fall semester...

Pre-Req GPA (According to 4-unit Anatomy, 5-unit Micro, 5-unit Physio, 3-unit Stats, 3-unit Eng): 3.85

TEAS Score: 87.3

Impaction Score: 7.65

What was your pre-req gpa and teas score? I'm still confused how I got a provisional acceptance letter when my impaction score is lower than yours!

Did anyone else get a provisional acceptance letter with an impaction score of 7.45 or lower?

Oh actually that was a mistake. Apparently Ap scores are NOT counted in the prerequisite gpa so that dropped my score lower so I have a lower score than yours.

I got in, but I'll be giving up my spot if I get into Sac State. I'm wait listed there, but my alternate number is promising. For anyone whoes application is "pending", hang in there; I share your anxieties!!

Hi Ahri! We got our admission decisions on 4/29. Applicants that didn't make the initial cut off were notified 4/15. You should contact them soon! If you applied, you should have heard from them by now. Email Teri Tallman.

I was accepted into SJSU but I'll be declining my spot. I got into CSULA and I like their program better. Good luck to those on the waiting list!

If you are sure that you do not want to attend SJSU, it would be kind if you tell the nursing department that you are declining your spot. It's polite to let them know UNLESS you are unsure (maybe waiting on other acceptance letters). It just makes it more convenient for the nursing department.

I got accepted!! For those who are wondering, I have a 3.5 (since AP English doesn't count) in my prereqs:

A Comm

Ap English

A Anatomy

B Physio

B Micro

A Stats

A Crit Thinking

and a 88.7% on my TEAS V

Congrats to those who got in. I didn't get in due to some missing credits. That's ok. Since I got in SFSU, I would have given up my spot to someone else (SFSU was a better commute for me).

Wow, considering the impaction score, even if I had the required credits, my TEAS score would have brought me down to below 7.45.

I'm just glad I got in to a nursing program this year cuz now I'm seeing new TEAS requirements (They don't accept TEAS V scores because there is a new version out).
