I am working on my application for Simmons. How competitive is the program? I have 5 years RN experience. 2 years in Critical Care and 3 years in primary care. I have a 3.5 GPA for my BSN and was in a Nursing Honor Society but I only have a 3.1 cumulative and am afraid that will be a deterring factor. Do you think I have a chance? Also how heavy are they on typing papers? I love studying, researching, and learning new things but typing a bunch a papers a week is a little nerve wrecking since it has been 5 years since my under grad!

Tasha, I applied for January. I got an email stating the faculty is currently looking over my application. The application coordinator said he would keep me updated. I'll keep you informed. I hate this waiting game!

I am in the process of applying to Simmons January 2014 cohort. I only need to fill out my recommendations today. I'm currently at Chamberlain college of nursing online FNP program (second class) and i don't feel like i'm learning anything, it is a lot of busy work with writing papers and discussion boards.
Does anyone know exactly how long it takes for a reply? I have a 3.9 GPA for my BSN and i work in an ICU right now, hoping thats good enough for admission. When i talked to the admissions person about how hard it was to get in, she said that they look mainly at GPA, purpose statement, and resume. She also said that if they have a large number of qualified applicants then they can create more classes.

I GOT INTO SIMMONS! Got my acceptance phone call and email this AM! My cumulative was 3.0, my AAS was 3.03, my BSN was 3.8 my sciences was 3.5...I was denied admission to Georgetown and was referred to Simmons to apply. I was a CNA for years, then an LPN for a few more years, then RN and then BSN RN...I've worked home health, family practice, case management, specialty clinics (derm and podiatry, TBI/Neuro), LTC and rehab. so a little bit of everything. The admissions reps are FANTASTIC, and I"m so excited. I am starting in March 2014 for the full time program! =)

Hello everyone. I was considering Simmons but they are so expensive. I was excepted to Chamberlin NP program but now I am considering Ohio University because it is less expensive. What do you all think? oh yeah and congrats to you all..... Excited for you all
