wondering how the program is going for anyone that is in it, thanks, applied tonight and just want to make sure I pick the right school.
I'm hoping to get into March cohort. I couldn't do Jan because even though my BSN is finished December 8th it takes Excelsior 6-8wks to confer the degree so technically my "graduation" date isn't until Feb 21, 2014 (which sucks! lol) All the other schools I looked at start in May, but Simmons has a March cohort, so I was told I could apply to start then. I'm really hoping I get it, even though it's only two months sooner to start, that means two months sooner to graduate too LOL. I'm okay with starting in May though, so if for some reason I get pushed back it's no big deal. Good luck and let us know when you hear something!

The cost of Simmons is $57K yes it is a bit more expensive but Georgetown University is over $80K, and University of Cincinnati is $40K, so for me, no the cost of Simmons is not that bad in relation to the amount of time I'll be in school (full time is only 18mo), and the amount of technology utilized (actual "classes" with an instructor, videos and lectures, not just discussion postings and reading and writing papers). At the same time I do have 16mo of my husbands' GI BIll to use, and I plan on applying for many scholarships and reimbursement programs that I can qualify for as well. If I have to quit my job then I will have to get food stamps or government assistance for myself and my kids. It will be a rough 18mo but financially and timing-wise this is the best option for me. My husband is disabled so I have to do what I can do and as quickly as possible. Doesn't mean a want a worthless education though either. I want to be competent in an advanced role. I think someone on here if you do a search did a cost analysis of GU vs. a longer cheaper program and in the end they balanced out to the same financials in regards to the cost of tuition and loss of income (loss of income vs. increased income after graduating) but graduating sooner meant re-couping that income faster =) Of course i can talk about all this now, it's not a reality to me yet hahahahah, I still need an acceptance and I"m still waiting on that. Did I mention how impatient i have been waiting...sigh...LOL[/quote']The gi bill will cover everything and than some. I only had 23 days remaining from my benefits. With all the changes, they still paid the entire 10k+ for the first semester. I also received partial stipend. I wasn't expected so much for such a short time frame remaining. But it's awesome!
