Hello there,
Starting a thread for Sierra College's Fall 2017 ADN program applicants. Just thought we could use this to keep in touch for updates. Anyone else applying?? How many times have you applied for Sierra and/or other programs?? This will be my first time applying for any nursing program. Good luck to everyone!
stay away from Yuba! I've talked with some nurses at Kaiser (I volunteer there) and they all say yuba wasn't the best because they want you in and out, and don't give much attention to the students. Plus their pass rates on the NCLEX aren't the best. You'll be fine with Sierra or ARC.I applied to yuba college, sac city, sac state, sierra, and arc. I got into arc, sierra and yuba on my first try! now Im not sure which program to choose.
And congrats to everyone who got in. Look forward to meeting everyone at orientation :) I was kind of shocked how the first orientation is 7PM-9PM. Seemed late, but I'll see you all there :)
Do you think they are still sending out acceptance letters? Because I thought it takes a month after April 15th for them to send out the letters. Even on their website of they say
"Only selected students are notified via e-mail using the e-mail address clearly documented on their application. It takes approximately 4 weeks after the close of application acceptance to complete the selection and notification process."
Just hoping they are still sending them out.
Unfortunately, they said they send out all acceptance letters and alternates at the same time. Sierra has always sent out acceptances early and around the end of April even though they say it could take four weeks.
I have heard that next year they may be changing the selection process in order to make it a bit more merit based and lessen the amount of qualified applicants.

I'm sure they are done. I turned my acceptance in yesterday (in person), and they had a long list of names where they confirmed me turning my paperwork in.
