what would each of those choices accomplish? answer that and the answer to the question will stand out.

:tinkbll:well all the things you mentioned is good...but i came to find out that sickle cell crisis is just part of the many things that sicklers go through.... i have a daughter that has sickle cell and i done all kinds of things to make sure that she ate right and the whole nine yards and she still continued to go into sc crisis...it's a terrible thing to experience. stay hydrated is something good to tell the mom as well...but all the prevention measures that one can take can not stop a cirsis....once the cells sickle and get bunched up in the vein ...the oxygen level begins to drop and here comes the crisis.:crying2: once my daughter was in the hospital for a whole month from a sickle cell crisis...it like a vicious cycle....they go in for pain...then they are put on the oxygen...before long the pneumonia sets in....and if it totally take over then here come the acute chest syndrome.....it's a dirty terrible disease. tell the mom all the things that you have including hydration and continue to pray that one day someone finds a cure for this hurtful disease.:redbeathe

2 of these items don't actually prevent a sickly cell crisis and the one item left over will be an important step in prevention. Have you already looked and read through the sickle cell material in your books and on-line?
