Has this happened to anyone else?? I just got home from taking boards for the first time and the computer shut off at 75. The problem is I KNOW I missed at least one question because I made a stupid math error on one of the med calculations.
Is it possible to have passed with only 75 questions even if some of your answers were incorrect?
I'm terrified that I failed and I'm really hoping some of you wonderful people will have been in a similar situation and can offer me some hope!
Thanks!

When I got home I knew I missed at least 6. I had 75 q's and I passed.

I've read that canidates can miss 50% of the upper level questions and still pass. IT is all relative! Good luck!
Thank you both!! I feel MUCH better now. I know there are no guarantees, but I feel pretty good about things now...
Thanks again!

i missed more than 20 or maybe 30 (not kidding!)!!! LOL, and I passed at 77! I am sure you will pass:P
Thanks for the support, but the more I think about it the more I convince myself that I missed a LOT of questions and that I may have actually failed at 75 miserable questions. The not know is going to drive me insane!
Thanks again for the vote of confidence!

Keep in mind that most test takers miss about half of the questions (which would be 30'ish since 15 don't count toward your score) and PASS (and when was the last time you got a 50% on a test? No wonder people think they failed!!). I am certain that I missed several myself, though I couldn't tell you off the top of my head (I don't know if I passed since no quick results in Cali... it's been 2 1/2 weeks for me and since my school only just sent transcripts I will be waiting a few more days at least).
Your chances of passing at 75 questions, I think, are FAR better than your chances of failing. I hold out the hope that the NCLEX CAT would give you a chance to answer a few more after 75 unless you were doing pretty badly. The test is designed to be difficult for everyone, no matter your level of knowledge.
Breathe... and let us know!! I'm sure that you passed with FLYING colors!

I am in the same boat. Took NCLEX last Thursday 01-17-2008 and now I am waiting.
When it shut off after 75 question I had tears running down my cheeks. I guess complete relief that it was over with. But that doesn't take the worry and the ulcers away. I was always told that the first question would be easy, but I didn't think so. It started out hard and stayed hard. There was also NO variety. I would say 75% of my test was on Hormones (Addisons, SIDH, DI,Thyroid stuff) prioritization and delegation. I think the whole test is just a mind game. I kept wondering why there were asking questions on the same stuff over and over again. Where was cardiac when you needed it!!!!
A friend of mine took it on the 18th and the majority of hers was on AIDS and medications she had never heard of. Again NO variety. Once they start, it seems as if they just keep pounding you on the same things over and over.
So in the meantime, I am having sleepless nights, growing ulcers and my anal self is trying to figure out how many question I would have had to miss or get right in order to reach the 95th percentile in probability :)

All test takers get 50% correct and 50% incorrect. That is how the exam was designed. You are not given a numerical result, only pass or no pass.
They base the pass on the level that you were getting the questions correct at, and nothing more than this.
You will need to wait for your results, there is no way to predict on how anyone does. Getting the last question right or wrong does not tell anyone anything. Number of questions also has no bearing.
If your state participates in the Quick Results from Pearson-Vue, then your results should be available today if you tested two days ago.
Best of luck to all of you that are waiting.:balloons:

I had 75 questions and I think I had 3 math questions the one I had no clue on how to figure out by the way it was worded so I guessed (Maybe I guessed right) and I still passed. Good Luck!
Just found out: I passed!!! What a relief!! I can finally sleep!
