Shut off at 75 but KNOW I missed at least one...

Published

Has this happened to anyone else?? I just got home from taking boards for the first time and the computer shut off at 75. The problem is I KNOW I missed at least one question because I made a stupid math error on one of the med calculations.:o

Is it possible to have passed with only 75 questions even if some of your answers were incorrect?

I'm terrified that I failed and I'm really hoping some of you wonderful people will have been in a similar situation and can offer me some hope!

Thanks!

hey congratulations! i also took mine jan. 17th...did u take a California license?..

I am in the same boat. Took NCLEX last Thursday 01-17-2008 and now I am waiting.

When it shut off after 75 question I had tears running down my cheeks. I guess complete relief that it was over with. But that doesn't take the worry and the ulcers away. I was always told that the first question would be easy, but I didn't think so. It started out hard and stayed hard. There was also NO variety. I would say 75% of my test was on Hormones (Addisons, SIDH, DI,Thyroid stuff) prioritization and delegation. I think the whole test is just a mind game. I kept wondering why there were asking questions on the same stuff over and over again. Where was cardiac when you needed it!!!!

A friend of mine took it on the 18th and the majority of hers was on AIDS and medications she had never heard of. Again NO variety. Once they start, it seems as if they just keep pounding you on the same things over and over.

So in the meantime, I am having sleepless nights, growing ulcers and my anal self is trying to figure out how many question I would have had to miss or get right in order to reach the 95th percentile in probability :)

oh my gosh! we took the exam the same day! and I think we had the same test,,haha..by the look of it,,,i also had a lot of thyroid stuff in it,,,and its the same stuff over and over,,your exam sounds like mine,,,,

I took mine today and was shut off at 76. I also had a lot of questions on the endocrine system and 2 questions on electromyogram (EMG) of which I've never heard of. I know I missed 6 for sure, and no clues how many others since I felt like I guessed most of the time. Shoot, if 15 of the questions didn't' count, then I'm certain I failed.

Goodluck to both of us! don't lose hope,,let's keep on praying...until there's no result yet...it's either we pass or fail,,,so hopefully we both pass

If I have learned anything, this test tests you as much on knowledge as on concentration. Around question 40 or so, I started to analyze :"Why is this question easier, I thought I answered the last one right", or "Why is it asking me the same question just from a different angle over and over". My mind started wandering off, worrying about things that I shouldn't be worrying about. I had to tell myself to stay on task. I have yet to talk to anybody who walked out after taking this test and didn't feel like they had just flunked royally! Now, why is that?

No, Virginia.

so does it mean virginia participates in the quick result?cause you got yours 3 days after...that's counting yesterday which is a holiday...

Congrats again,,,,wish me luck

Ironic, because when I took the NCLEX I knew I got 1 question correct and I was cut off at 86. Even more ironic was the fact that it was a L&D question--how do you determine the frequency of contractions? I wish they sent you a list of the questions you received and what you missed.

But if you are sure you missed just ONE question outta 75, chances are pretty good you did ok.

Unfortunately Virginia does not participate in the quick result, BUT it only took them a couple of days to have it on their automated telephone line. It's still not posted on their website, but that is okay :), I can call them every now and them and just listen to the message say my name :) :) :) The sweet sound!!!
