Hey guys! I didn't see a thread for applicants for Sam Houston State University BSN Fall 2019, so I decided to make one. I am in the process of making my NursingCAS application.
My Stats:
Teas Overall: 86%
Math: 93.8%
Reading: 85.1%
Overall GPA: 3.5
Pre-Nursing GPA (according to GPA calculator on shsu website) : 3.5
I do have credits from SHSU, and I also took MATH 1370. I am not a licensed CNA, although I did take the course.
I think they moved the whole program to the Woodlands. I applied to the Woodlands and to both the BSN and the LVN-BSN program.
Oh wow I didn't know that since I was able to choose on the NursingCas application I just assumed lol Well, goodluck to you! I hope you get into one of the programs and that we hear back soon! ?
I feel like from past years everyone has gotten their acceptance letters already. I just emailed the school to ask when the last batch goes out. I'm quitting at life and backpacking through Europe for the next decade if I don't get in.

Your stats were pretty good through! My GPA was the bear minimum but my TEAS math and reading averaged like a 93 and my overall score was a high B. I wanna say an 89.
Yeah they were decent I suppose but I don’t have any of the extra bumps for attending SHSU or holding a bachelors or having an EMT license so I doubt I will get in unless for some reason a bunch of people decline their offer to go to another school or for whatever reason. I’m currently retaking the science classes I got Bs in to turn them to As for the spring application but still holding on to slight hope that I manage to squeak my way in for fall ?

Not to be the bearer of bad news but I have someone who’s aunt is on the admissions board in my anatomy class and he said he asked her how it’s going and she said most of the people getting in have a 3.7 or higher for nursing prerequisites. Don’t lose faith you never know how many of the first round will decline but figured I would let you know what I was told
I have higher than a 3.7, have a BS, and SHSU credits and I haven’t heard anything. Maybe my transcript issue but if not then they probably haven’t sent anything out yet. Or have they?
