Published

Hey guys! I didn't see a thread for applicants for Sam Houston State University BSN Fall 2019, so I decided to make one. I am in the process of making my NursingCAS application.

My Stats:

Teas Overall: 86%

  • Math: 93.8%
  • Reading: 85.1%

Overall GPA: 3.5

Pre-Nursing GPA (according to GPA calculator on shsu website) : 3.5

I do have credits from SHSU, and I also took MATH 1370. I am not a licensed CNA, although I did take the course.

Glad you made this!

My Stats:

TEAS Overall: 88%

  • Math= 96.9
  • Reading= 89.4

We have really similar stats! Good luck to you! Have you started the NursingCas application?

Is there a specific format that they want us to submit our CNA certification? I dont know whether im supposed to scan my license, or just screenshot the results from pearsonvue...

Hi Hannah!

Congrats on getting your NursingCAS started. I’m also applying for Fall. I’m a little confused on the immunization. I went to see the advisor and she said if you don’t have a history of Hepatitis B (3 dose series), you can go ahead and do the Heplisav-B (2 dose series). So I’m just wondering if you know anything about it! And I never got my Hep B tested before. Thank you!

Hey all! I am so glad to finally be on one of this applicant threads (been spying on all the former prospective cohorts). It's getting so close!

My Stats:

Overall GPA: 3.84

Nursing GPA: 4.0

TEAS Overall: 94

  • Reading: 89.4
  • Math: 96.9

I also have a BS from SHSU in Nutrition.

I spoke with the advisor about two weeks ago and she told me to scan the certification/license.

Does having a CNA boost your chances of getting in? my gpa is super low rn...but my TEAs scores are pretty good

I don’t know anything about the shorter HepB shots but make sure your titers for it are QUANTITATIVE. They won’t except anything else.

Thank you! I am having a lot of trouble with my immunizations right now. To make a long story short, I have to get my Hep B series over again due to my titer coming back non-reactive. I completed the first of my series, and will be going back shortly for the second and will receive a titer after my second dose and use that to apply with.

Hi everyone! I'm also applying to SHSU. I'm coming with transfer credits.

Here are my stats:

Overall TEAS : 84%

  • Math: 90.6%
  • Science: 87.2%
  • Reading: 78.7%
  • English: 75%

Overall GPA: 3.52

I started the NursingCAS application a while back. I had to get immunized for Hep B again, but I'm about to go back for my 2nd titer.

Good luck to everyone!

On the list of immunizations, it says we need Hepatitis C vaccine...? or something to do with hepatitis C but im really confused because there is no vaccine. Unless they meant if I have Hepatitis C I have to bring in lab report documentation?
