Hey guys! I didn't see a thread for applicants for Sam Houston State University BSN Fall 2019, so I decided to make one. I am in the process of making my NursingCAS application.
My Stats:
Teas Overall: 86%
Math: 93.8%
Reading: 85.1%
Overall GPA: 3.5
Pre-Nursing GPA (according to GPA calculator on shsu website) : 3.5
I do have credits from SHSU, and I also took MATH 1370. I am not a licensed CNA, although I did take the course.
On the list of immunizations, it says we need Hepatitis C vaccine...? or something to do with hepatitis C but im really confused because there is no vaccine. Unless they meant if I have Hepatitis C I have to bring in lab report documentation?
I think it’s the HepC titer QUANTITATIVE results. I will look when I get off but I don’t think there is a HepC vaccine, just a titer saying if you have it or not.

You just have to get a quantitative titer proving you don't have Hep C. I was confused about that too!

Hey, I went to Calvary Medical Clinic at the Kingwood location. A Dr can order it for you and it takes about 3 days for the results. I don’t have a pcp so I went there.
Does anyone know how long it takes to get accepted to Sam Houston? I electronically sent the transcript two weeks ago and checked the status today and it still says “not received”.?

For general admission? I would give the school a call and ask about your applicant status.
@spot942 Hey! I'm having to apply to SHSU first as well! The last I saw was my transcripts were all received, but now I can't log in to check the status of my application. Do y'all know if they're doing maintenance before I call up the admissions lady?

Hey, I just checked and it’s working. They got my transcripts now. I also got an email earlier about activating my SHSU account with a username.
Hey I have a question. I am thinking about applying to SHSU for the fall and was wondering if anyone knew how long the nursing program is if I have all prerequisites completed? Thank you!!
