Hey guys! I didn't see a thread for applicants for Sam Houston State University BSN Fall 2019, so I decided to make one. I am in the process of making my NursingCAS application.
My Stats:
Teas Overall: 86%
Overall GPA: 3.5
Pre-Nursing GPA (according to GPA calculator on shsu website) : 3.5
I do have credits from SHSU, and I also took MATH 1370. I am not a licensed CNA, although I did take the course.

Thanks
I applied for Fall 2019 and was put on the waitlist. Don’t give up yet! Lots of people apply for multiple programs and don’t take their seat at Sam. I didn’t realize how competitive Sam’s program when I applied- only 30 something percent of applicants are accepted. I thought for sure with a 4.0 gpa and a top 2% TEAS score I would get in easy but that was not the case.
Wait a few weeks and see what happens. I was devastated when I wasn’t accepted right away, but the email came! Good luck- let us know if you get in!

Hello love honestly I can’t believe the last person that commented didn’t get accepted that blows my mind honestly she may have had an issue with vaccinations or something because I was accepted with a 3.68 and 82 on my teas (I ended up with a 3.84 but that was after I retook classes in the summer and I was accepted before that changed) I had no previous Sam classes but was Phi Theta Kappa (honors society) no LVN or EMT experience. Don’t give up hope I know of at least 3 who got pulled from the waitlist

Hi, I was in your shoes a few months ago so I know how you feel but honestly don’t lose hope. I got the alternate applicant email 06/18/19 and got the acceptance email 06/25/19. It is very possible to get pulled out the waitlist and my stats wasn’t that great if that helps at all. I had 3.4 gpa, 70s(can’t remember exact score) overall TEAS but math and reading were my highest and did fairly good enough to apply. I have CNA experience of over a year though and a previous bachelor’s degree so I don’t know if having those helped me but one thing I know for sure is that I prayed for this one and God showed up for me as always. Keep the hope alive and let us know if you get in. Best wishes!

Congratulations ?! You’d love it. Message me if you’ve any questions. You’d take only two classes first semester (pathophysiology and nursing concepts). My advice is to review your A&P because once you start, it’s boom boom boom, no time wasting. All the best.
