"conviction or pleading guilty to an illegal or unlawful act." suggests criminal activity. It does not sound like that statement is appropriate in your case. Did you receive notification from the board after having secured your new position? If so, I would ride it out and see what happens. You may receive a warning from the board that is not public record. What does your attorney think?
Hi horseshoe,I am residing in an at will state. My employer handbook mentions grounds for termination includes conviction or pleading guilty to an illegal or unlawful act. I'm not sure how to interpret that when it comes to being disciplined by the BON.
No interpretation is needed because they can fire you for thousands of reasons that are not specifically listed in the employee handbook. They can fire you because they don't like your haircut if you're working under "at will" circumstances.
Hi Sortore,
I haven't received notification from the BON. I'm still waiting for a response through my attorney. We are hoping for a warning or a private reprimand. I had 2 positions when this complaint was sent to the board. I'm now only employed with one employer but preparing myself for the worse case scenario.

Yes, I completely understand that. It's unfortunate but hoping for the best given the circumstances.
So you were told by your employer they were reporting you? Have you actually received anything from your BON about this?
If not, nothing may even come of it. I think it's great you are being very prepared and talked to someone about this early in the process. Just try to not get too upset at this point.
Best of luck.

Yes, my employer told me they were reporting me. I received notification from the BON and already retained an attorney. I'm trying to stay positive but I'm extremely stressed.
Thanks

I have been reported to the BON due to a documentation error. Hired an attorney and looks like I have a 50-50 chance of receiving a public reprimand. I was fired at my previous place of employment and have employment elsewhere. Can I get fired at my current place of employment due to a public reprimand? Anyone have experience with this?
