Should I take A&P I and Micro together?

I have chemistry completed, but now I need to take 2 more sciences in order to apply for the nurisng program. My problem is, I'm already going to be a semester late in applying, but if I don't double up on sciences this semester then I will be a year late. What should I do?! My other 2 classes for the semester is develop psych and tech writing. If i don't take micro, I will replace it with medical terminology. What do you think?

No, that would be punishment. Take medical terminology, it's really easy, and it will free up your time to focus on A&P I

Take both, its not as bad as everyone makes it seem.

I just finished AP1. I'm taking AP2 and Micro together this semester. I got an A in AP1. I didn't think it was that bad. You know yourself. If you think you can handle both, do it!

I am taking both AP1 and Micro together along with Statistics and English comp for the spring term. I talked to my advisor and I believe it is a good choice for me. If you are disciplined in studying you should do just fine.

It all depends on you. If you struggle with sciences, I would recommend trying not to take both at the same time A&P 1 is not nessessarily difficult, but it is a LOT of material. The volume covered in A&P 1 is what makes it hard. Micro is about average for a science class. If chem was something you did well in, you should be fine taking both as long as you maintain good study habits.....you will have to to stay on top of the material. I took both at the same time during 8 week summer session along with english, because i had to have those all done before i could apply for to my nursing school, and I wanted to start this spring (and I am). Managed As in both, though my A&P1 only just mangaged the A, micro was a solid A.

wellll.....if your up to the challenge then do it. it will not be easy but its not impossible. if you have the time and dedication for both with labs then hey go for it!

I personally LOVED Micro. I took it at the same time that I took A&P II, along with a math class and Abnormal Psychology. I got As in all of the classes. Science has always been a pretty good subject for me - if you're not someone who usually struggles with lab sciences, I'd say go for it. If you think that you might struggle than you may want to reconsider your options. It all depends on your strengths and weaknesses and how much time you have to dedicate to studying.

Im taking A&P II and Micro together. You will just need to prepare yourself for hard work.

I took A&P II and Microbiology together for the exact same reason--I didn't want to end up applying a semester later. I also was taking English 1B and another class to completely finish my general education requirements. I ended up doing OKAY, but I didn't get an 'A' like I did for my other nursing prerequisites. It ended up hurting me more than helping. I lost points because they took my GPA down a bracket on the points system and I didn't get accepted the first time I applied for the program.

I admit my circumstances are possibly much different than yours, more classes and I have kids, so I don't want to discourage you. I would just think about what would happen if you didn't get the grades you wanted because of how tough it is.

Good luck!

Thanks everyone for the advice! I feel like maybe I should just take A&P, unless I start being more self-disciplined by tomorrow. Haha. Although I don't have kids nor do I have a job, I have the urge to get both sciences out of the way. Hopefully it doesn't turn out so bad!
