Yeah I'm not really an argumenative person and I hate when people are upset with me, it makes me feel bad. So I'm so happy that it worked out that way. And I feel better because now I know that I didn't do anything wrong, it wasn't even about the dressing change, or the fact that I didn't ask, she just had some personal things to deal with. I know we are all human and sometimes when we're upset we may accidentally take it out on someone else.

I was young when I graduated from nusing school, too (20 years old), and it is very tough when your co-workers and/or the people that are under you are old enough to be your parents. That was probably the single most difficult thing I encountered during my first years as a nurse. As you gain more experience, you will gain more confidence, but to be honest it has gotten a lot easier since I'm "older" now. (I will be 31 in a few weeks ) I'm glad you were able to work it out with your coworker, and hope that your confidence in yourself will continue to grow. Keep on posting on the website.....if it had been around when I first graduated it would have been a godsend for me. Lots of good people with good experience and advice.....use it!
Welcome to allnurses and your nursing career!
:chuckle Great news, I was so upset yesterday and you guys helped me out... see thread "my biggest fear come true". Today was much better. I had a long discussion with the nurse that yelled at me and she apologized and thanked me for the help. She told me that she's been going through some personal issues at home and that yesterday she ended up taking it out on her coworkers... So we worked it out! And I feel so much better. THANK YOU GUYS, it's nice to have a place full of such supportive people. :)~Crystal
