I am sorry, you sound like a qualified candidate.

Don't take it personally though, it's really hard to know what they're looking for. Plus I heard some 1,800 people applied!!!!! You have to realize that when there is such a large number of applicants, it's like winning the lottery and your chances are really low......

I think we'll have better luck if we start looking to other states. California is just too competitive right now and have very few openings for us!

Don't give up yet. I talked to the Nurse Recruiter for those who applied to Sharp Memorial Residency program and they just selected their top candidates from the bunch that applied initially. Those who are chosen were given to the Nurse Managers today. The Managers will then select the candidates they are most interested in and be giving them all phone interviews in the beginning of May, with panel interviews in the beginning of June. Good luck to those that applied!!

You pretty much saved the bad day I was having. All I kept hearing was that if you didn't get an email by now, then you're done. I just want to be given a chance to be interviewed.

She told me it all depends on which hospital and floor you apply to. The information I gave applies solely to Sharp Memorial. But I am unsure if the applicants that did not make it were emailed to notify them, or if they are just left out of the loop, and are hopelessly waiting for something that wont come :/

With Sharp in the past, no rejection emails are sent out to applicants (unlike Scripps who sent out emails). If you don't get a call to set up a phone interview, then that's it...you don't hear anything. There are just too many people to email and it's really like any other job you apply for. No response means no interest. I did hear that Sharp Memorial gives priority to employees and volunteers, so don't count yourself out if you work for them currently. About a month ago I emailed the Memorial recruiter who did say that it would be the middle of April before anyone would receive word about their applications.

Hi! It was Mary Birch! A few a of my friends are still waiting to hear back from Chula as well. It's funny.....my choices were Mary Birch and Chula L & D, and I was only asked to interview for MB. Did you happen to interview with both?
