For those who applied to Sharps summer 2011 program
has anyone heard anything yet?
I applied for Chula Vista & Grossmont Tele/Med-Surg Residency and I was wondering if anyone else heard from them. I haven't heard anything yet. I have an ADN, preceptorship was @ Chula Vista Tele, and I had many clinicals at Sharp facilities. I'm just hoping I get called for an interview and get accepted into the program. Good luck everyone!! I hope everyone gets accepted :-)
For those who landed the job CONGRATS!! Just wondering what school you went to.. Experience.. Work history?
Hello! I was offered a position in L & D at Sharp Mary Birch which I gratefully accepted. I graduated from University of Oklahoma Accelerated BSN program in San Diego in August 2010. We did all of our clinicals at Sharp facilities around the county. I had no previous nursing experience! This was the 2nd time I applied to Sharp's New Grad program, the first time I didn't even receive an email confirming receipt of my app, etc. Because I wanted to focus on Women's Health, I took a class called "Regional Perinatal" which is a class that Sharp sends their employees for training. The cost is close to $1000 and it is a 6 week class, two days a week, for eight hours a day. I also completed certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Fetal Monitoring, Regional Perinatal. When Sharp posted New Grad positions, Mary Birch required that specific class. I highly reccommend the class for those who want Women's Health! At the end of the day, an employer wants to see your motivation and determination. For those who don't get a position this time around, focus on an area you want to work and do everything you can to prepare yourself, (IV certs, EKG, ACLS, etc). For those interviewing.....I had a panel interview as well and they asked a lot of behavioal questions.....be prepared with answers to all possible BQ. Write the out, with examples.....let them know that you can critically think in tough situations! Know important lab values, disease processes and nursing interventions.....remember your care plans....take them out and read the info. Most importantly BE YOURSELF, BE CONFIDENT, and convince them that you will make a strong contribution to their organization. Know Sharp's Mission, Core Values, and tie in how important they are to your nursing career! Hope this helps! Good luck!
Hey everyone. I just received my call for a phone interview for Sharp Memorial's Residency program. They should be calling around 30 of us. Good luck to you all!!
So did they just start calling on May 2? From another post, I was assuming the 2nd of May was the last day anyone would get a call and I pretty much gave up any hope. Good luck with your interview!!
Sharp Chula Vista Med Surge Tele contacted me about March for a panel interview. Are there anyone else interviewing for Sharp Chula M/S Tele? Getting nervous for my upcoming interview!!
I also got a call for Sharp Chula Vista Tele/Med Surg. I was told that there are 7 interviewers at the most...kind of nervous because this will be my first panel interview.

Thank you sdace! I think they started calling earlier. But the recruiters are receiving name by name from the managers as they review our applications. Phone interviews apparently begin today, and last for three weeks. My friend called the recruiter and she told her to not give up hope until the end of next week. They are interviewing anywhere between 35-50 applicants. So for those of you who haven't heard anything, I would suggest waiting till next friday, and hopefully you all will get phone calls :)
Hello All
I had no phone interview, rather they scheduled me for a panel interview. What would be potential areas to focus on? Since it is for Med/Surge Tele (Sharp CV) I am going to look up things along those lines. In addition I am going to look up their (Sharp) Mission and core beliefs. Are there any other areas of focus I should consider?
For those who have Sharp Chula Vista panel interviews, I was informed that there is currently construction going on. Plan to leave a bit earlier than usual to find parking around the area prior to your interview.
