Hello everyone! Sharp new grad’s application opened on Monday (2/17). I just wanted to make this so we can all keep each other updated. ?

I had applied for spring 2020, got an interview for ICU, but unfortunately did not get hired. So here I am, round 2! ?

has anyone heard any updates/rumors since this COVID outbreak really escalated? do you think the entire program is going to be delayed/cancelled?

Memorial emailed me two weeks ago and said there was a delay in application review due to coronavirus and applications would be reviewed over the next 4 weeks. I really wouldn’t be surprised if Summer cohort is cancelled though, I know UCLA and some other places in LA already cancelled theirs.

just got a rejection letter from sharp ?

it said "either the position has been canceled or the department has moved forward with other candidates".. anyone else get this? I'm wondering if it actually got cancelled or if I just didn't get selected. bummer either way, good luck everyone.

I’m sorry to hear that! I haven’t heard anything which unit were applying for?

I haven’t gotten anything from them at all. And I’m sorry to hear that ?

(not sure how to reply) but I applied for their psych position, I've been working at a psych clinic since no big hospitals have hired me yet and was hoping this would give me a better shot, I was applying to regular positions before (medsurg/tele/ect) so I was hoping psych would be easier to get my foot in the door. gotta admit, I'm pretty bummed LOL, this one stung a bit. but thanks everyone, I won't give up, it only takes 1 yes.

I’m sorry. I’ve applied probably over 12 times to various facilities for new grad programs. I swear it must be the luck of the draw sometimes. I applied to Sharp CV and Coronado as my first and second choices respectively. Best of luck to you. I’m currently working in a SNF/Sub-Acute facility.

I'm sorry you got that email ? but like others have said, don't give up you can always reapply!

May I ask if you applied for Sharp Mesa Vista or Grossmont new grad psych positions? It is very likely this virus outbreak has affected the programs as well so I'm wondering if it is cancelled..

Hey there. I applied to Sharp CV as my first and Coronado as my second choice. I haven’t heard anything yet about CV or Coronado. I’m wouldn’t be shocked if they are delaying interviews because of COVID.

I also do believe they are going to delay interviews. I have also not heard from them as well. Let’s keep each other posted if one hears from them yeah?:) I have a friend that works at SCV ED but he has not heard anything yet abt the New Grad Program. I also received an email today, but from my school. I guess Sharp is in need of Nursing/Respiratory Students. I’m not quite sure how it works, but I’ve already called and sent an email requiring an inquiry.
