Has anyone on here applied to this program?

I doubt the waitlist changes that much in one day lol

Yeah, me too. That's why I'm confused. I don't think there is an overall waitlist since no one was informed of there being one. It wouldn't make much sense to have an overall waitlist if they are admitting students based on their concentration, which seems to be the case. But if there is not an overall waitlist, it also doesn't make sense that I would move up that much. Maybe I was just given incorrect information the first time? If any info was incorrect, I'm hoping it was the first one and not this one lol. I wish I could see my own status and not have to rely on people telling me over the phone.

Another strange thing is that I still have no received any e-mails from the school. I told them this when I called today and she said I would be receiving an e-mail and to just be on the lookout for it. I want to call again but I feel like I've been annoying them too.

Ya I had an official email telling me I was on the wait-list.

@fancyeyes my cumulative was 3.06 and my pre-req was 3.82. UCSC bio major. I had lots of clinical and volunteer experience which I think boosted my app. GRE was a 5? But my personal statement was crap! Haha. If you don't get in this year, I'd suggest UCLA. They had 70 spots this year, which was way easier to get into than SFSU's 20 spots. Also you can apply to SFSU's BSN program, which has around 70 spots too, if you don't mind getting your BSN first! Good luck!!!

@max79 I'm number 4 on the waitlist, and there are only 4 spots for my community/public health concentration. so basically everyone woudl have to say no before I got in! It's ok, I've already accepted going to UCLA. I'm pretty excited too! Goodluck with the program at SFSU. You sound like you're going to be a great nurse! :D

Hi jll89, is it confirmed that there are only 4 spots for the community/public health concentration? I assumed it to be true since there are 5 concentrations, but I didn't know exactly.

And congrats on UCLA!

@master641215 yes it's confirmed that there are only 4 spots. I emailed the nursing admissions, they replied saying there are 4 spots for the community/public health concentration and 6 students on the waitlist for that concentration. And thank you!!! :)

Thank you for the information, jll89!

To be selfish, I'm hoping those who were admitted accepted spots at other schools, thus allowing me entrance to the program! Speaking of which, is there anyone in this forum who has been accepted to the Community/Public Health Track at SFSU?

I feel the same way about hoping people accept spots in other programs. When I was told I was number 8, I was trying to be hopeful but I figured it was highly unlikely that I would get in if there were 4 spots per concentration. But now that I was told I was #2 (which I pray was not incorrect information - I'm still not sure how I was 8 one day and 2 the next...), I have much more hope. I just need one person to go somewhere else and the first person on the waitlist to have been accepted somewhere else and decide to go there... haha. Since SF state is my only option this time around it would be great if 2 people got in other programs and free up the space :)

Same with you master, I believe you said you only applied to SF state.. hoping things work out for both of us and everyone on this forum :)

Looks like you and I are in the same boat, futurenurseshelly! However, I hear that the number of spots open per concentration varies. For example, because Peds had more applicants, the School of Nursing is considering accepting more applicants in that concentration (this was confirmed by the staff, since I called today). So maybe the chances of you getting in will be a bit greater!

Yeah, in hindsight, I probably should have cast a much wider net in terms of applying. If things don't work out this time, there's always next year!

Good luck to you, as well! And to everyone else who is on the waitlist! We have until July 31st, but knowing sooner will be much less stressful!

@futurenurseshelly Hi! I tried to reply to your private message but I guess I need to start 15 threads or something first to be able to use that feature  Anyways, I had not yet received an official email from the SON, so I emailed today and they replied back Congratulating me on being admitted and told me that I would be receiving an email with info about orientation, registering, etc 3 weeks from accepting offer on SFGATEWAY. I wish you all the luck and send good vibes your way!

@Nicamama Oh right, I forgot about that rule. I think you just need to have 15 posts, because I haven't started any threads. So you're 3 posts away! Okay that's cool, thanks for the info. I'm hoping I get in off the waitlist and can join you in the women's health group. Do you happen to know how many they admitted in that emphasis?

@futurenurseshelly Sorry, I don't know how many they have admitted for the Women's Health emphasis but hopefully one of those spots will be yours! Now 2 more posts to go, haha

I was told they admitted 5 in Peds (not THAT much more than community haha)...so I'd be in if EVERY one dropped haha
