Hey guys ,
please post your stats here if you're applying to sfsu nursing program so we can have an idea about how competitive this cohort is ? Do you know If they accept for both fall and spring ?
Thank you and good luck
Do we have to register for the nursing orientation? This is for Pre-licensure BSN program. Thanks!
To those who have already accepted the offer of admission: do we sign up for both the transfer orientation and the nursing orientation (sign ups not yet available until late June, I believe)? Is the transfer orientation mandatory? Thanks so much.

I could be wrong about signing up for the nursing orientation, but you do have to respond to the link that they sent with the email regarding whether or not you will confirm your spot in the program. (If you got accepted) Are you going to the transfer orientation as well?
I just wanted to make sure with somebody if we have to attend both orientations. Good luck and congrats to everyone!
Congrats!! :) Can I ask what your stats were, including possible experience? (question goes out to all accepted/waitlisted)
Hi! Thank you so much! To answer your question:
Overall GPA: 4.0
Prerequisite GPA: 4.0
TEAS V score: 82.7%
I am also a certified nursing assistant and I have put in hundreds of hours volunteering at a phlebotomy lab and a convalescent hospital.
Thanks so much for all the info hopeful7777!
I wouldn't be able to spend such a high amount of money on rent... It has been challenging for me to work and take classes this past 3 years, and I don't think I could maintain good grades doing so in nursing school.
I decided to go with Sacramento State. I feel like it will be a better fit for me, especially financially.
That will make someone on the waitlist extremely happy!
Believe me when I say that you are not alone in feeling the way you do, and remember not every waitlisted student posts on this forum so who knows what the last number accepted was, it could be in the 60's, 70's, maybe even 80's. Just stay positive for your own sanity and I will see you next year.
Thanks so much for helping me feel positively about this. You're truly wonderful at comforting nervous people, which I'm sure will be an incredible help to your patients in the future when they're are facing painful and scary situations. You're going to be an amazing nurse. :)

I'm so glad you figured out what will work best for you. I have a recurring nightmare that all my struggling and sacrificing sleep and a social life to get into a good nursing program will all end up being for nothing when I fail out because I just can't keep up with everything. I'm so glad I'm finally in a situation where that is very unlikely to happen. A friend of mine (also a server, which is a relatively high-paying job) who also lives in SF recently flunked out of a medical assistant program because he was working too many hours and just couldn't keep up. It worries me for anyone who doesn't have significant financial backing and plans on going to nursing school in SF, considering the rigors of the programs. When I saw your post I was worried for you. I've heard Sac has a higher NCLEX passing rate anyways, so I think you're in for a great education. Good luck. I'm sure you won't need it. :)
Can someone please tell me , how I can accept my intend to enroll? I cannot find anything on my web portal , Thank you
There is a link in the email they send you that should take you to the admissions page. Once there, there is a form you fill with your student ID and an option to accept or decline admission. I think that's it, but I'm not 100% sure. Here's the link Contact Us - Future Students - San Francisco State University
