Seton RN Residency July 2015

Hello Everybody!

I just wanted to start a thread for us to help each other get through the Seton RN Residency selection process for July 2015.

Feel free to post any updates, questions, and experiences.

I applied 2.17, and as of today my paperwork for routed to HR. I am patiently awaiting further information.

Also, who will be attending the open house?

Finally, I just wanted to say GOOD LUCK!

can anyone who has already interviewed for a position give us some idea about the type of interview questions you were asked? Thanks!

Has anyone else gotten any interviews, or heard of anyone getting interviews? I feel like they either really don't want me or they are starting off a bit slow with the interview process.

I think it has a lot to do with the fact that they have interviews available until May. Also, I applied to multiple units and only had interviews at Dell Children's Medical Center for the Ortho and Neuro units. Also, I think there is one recruiter for each hospital to weed out the (assuming) hundreds of resumes and applications they see. The only reason I had an interview so fast was because I was persistent due to the fact that I was in town for a few days and I am from out of state. (Ohio)

Don't be discouraged just yet, I know the waiting game is hell but this is just the first full month of interviews.

also, is anyone else interviewing at other hospital systems?

I just got all my info in- was waiting on a rec letter. Do you think my chances of getting an interview are diminished because I'm this late in the game?

I don't think so. I know someone from last cohort who applied towards the end, got an interview and a job offer as well. Good luck to you!

I just had an interview with the Cath Lab at Seton Hays today and then hours later received a phone call for an interview at Shoal Creek for a psych position...I applied to literally every position Seton posted, so I am still hoping on hearing back from some others. LOVED the cath lab though!!!

Just a little information about the interviews if anyone is curious! I interviewed for the surgical ortho/trauma at Dell Children's Medical Center. The questions are behavioral type question. For example, tell about a time when.... or how did you handle this type of situation... etc. I was fortunate enough to be offered the job and will be accepting! good luck to everyone and their interviews.

Hello all! Just wondering if anyone has heard about interviews for the NICU unit at SMCA or know of someone who has received an interview there? I was told they usually hire 1-2 graduate nurses. Hoping to hear something soon!! :)

One of my applications switched from "Under Review" to "Applicant Not Selected". It's good to know they are moving on in the process! Has anyone heard anything about Labor and Delivery?

I haven't heard anything about either. However, I accepted an offer at another hospital for labor and delivery. Good luck guys!

I still haven't heard anything from any of the positions I applied to either. MegatronRN, would you mind sharing which job switched to "Applicant not Selected"

And congrats Smara! Labor and delivery seems like an exciting job.
